Overall reliability

solid, spacious and surprisingly good to drive.

Bought a Roomster to replace our 10 year old Golf GT TDI. My wife liked the unusual look of it!
It's very much like driving a mark 4 Golf, except for the brakes which are far less 'grabby'.
I have had the EMC remapped and have a rolling road printout stating that maximum bhp is now 165, with maximum torque of 250ftlb. Consequently it can move with some alacrity, although still happy to pootle along at slow speeds.
I am seeing a consistent 50mpg between tank refills, based on motorway speeds of 70-75mph and a relaxed approach to other roads.
Construction is solid and the VW heritage is evident throughout.
Lots of room both front and rear, although the centre rear seat is better as a drinks tray than as a seat for an adult.
The Roomster 3 gives us a huge (fixed) sunroof, which can make the climate control work hard on fine days.
I took a while to find an ideal driving position, but am now very comfortable after a long journey.
The radio/CD fitted as standard is as good as the Nakamichi unit that I retrofitted to the Golf.
The boot is large enough for most purposes, and the rear seats can be readily folded forward to create space for a dozen bags of garden r******.
While I like the styling of the 16" alloys, I feel that the ride would have been more compliant had the tyre section been 55 instead of the 45 fitted.
I cant think of any serious negatives to report - we think that we got a super deal from the Skoda dealer and would buy another Skoda happily.
