Practical and comfortable family wagon with a good bit of poke

I've recently used this site a lot to inform my recent car purchase so wanted to contribute something back. I've recently switched from a 2010 Hyundai i30 1.6 CRDI to a Skoda Octavia 1.4 TSI 150 Estate (400 miles, 1 week in).

Pros
- Very practical, massive boot for the size of car.
- More refined than my Hyundai, wind noise very well controlled.
- Feels very solid all round.
- Strong engine and good mpg for a petrol.
- Nice bit of poke for a 1.4 even at motorway speeds.

Cons
- Quite a bit of road (tyre) noise. Came on Contiecocontact 5 205/55 R16's.
- 12V sockets by handbrake and in boot are both on all the time and not connected to ignition. Internet indicates that in VWs fuse 40 can be moved to change this, but may not be possible in Skodas due to lack of additional connector in fuse box. TBC
- Steering wheel feels ever so slightly off set to the right.
- I'm 6ft tall and drivers seat feels a bit soft and curves in at shoulder height.
- Door mirrors are small.

Still very early days but getting 48 mpg in mixed driving and up to 52 mpg on some very steady (non-motorway) runs at 40-50 mph. Too early to judge long term mpg and oil consumption etc.
