Not as green as you might think

Nice car, has all the toys...adaptive cruise control/brake warning/lane change warning a nice touch.
Here is the reality of the MPG:

You only get between 15-20 miles on battery only with a full charge, after that the 2.0 lt petrol engine kicks in to power the wheels.

On a long journey (300 miles) i can only average 25-33 mpg!!!
If i hit charge mode and continue driving you get 22-27 mpg.
Even if i behave myself and drive between 60-75 on the motorway the most i have been able to achieve on my weekly commute is 35-40 mpg.

This car would be perfect for my wife who rarely needs to do more than 20 miles around and about town when dropping off the kids, shopping etc.....as long as its plugged back in at home each time.

Charging costs approx £1.20 at home for a full charge so cheap to run on battery only when charging at home, at a service station its a different matter as the charging costs are much higher so you are better off running the petrol engine and its not practical to be stopping every 20 miles on a long journey for an hour to re charge!

We have 2 identical cars in the business and the performance/economy is the same for both, even with different drivers.

Still like the car as it ticks the boxes for us for now, main one being low company car tax.
Fuel how ever is no better than the 2 pick up trucks we were running last year.
