Enjoying Driving Again

After previously owning a practical but thoroughly boring car I have switched to a Mazda 3 and I am loving it. This is the first auto that I have owned although I have driven autos in numerous other countries. I am totally happy with this car. It is just the right size; comfortable for four people, five at a push. It is surprisingly spacious for its size. Most importantly, it is fun to drive. The engine is strong and performance is all that I am ever likely to need. With only 1000 miles on the clock, I embarked on a 2000 mile drive around France. The car never failed to impress in a mix of motorway, country lane and mountain driving and I found the seats to be really comfortable. Like most cars these days, you need a while to get to grips with the technology but I found most of it to be intuitive and easy to operate. I am trying to think of something to complain about and the only thing is the alert sound from the various alarm/safety systems. There is only one sound available whereas my last car allowed me select different sounds for different reasons. The "bing bing" sound goes off for any of a number of reasons and I then have to work out what it is for. Also, the over-speed alert (bing bing again) sounds off frequently when the systems have registered the incorrect speed limit and I am not actually speeding (for example, on a French motorway it assumes that the speed limit is the one for the slip road so it gave a speeding alert every time I passed a slip road even though I was staying on the motorway. Annoying but not enough to make me dislike this thoroughly good car.
