Mazda 3 (2014 - 2019)
2.2d Sport Nav
Great... until just past the warranty...
I do around 10k/year, with short trips during the week and long (2x120m) at the weekends. 34k on the clock. Serviced on time, at Mazda dealers only. 4 months past warranty.
Last weekend the MIL came on. Service centre tell me the smaller turbo has failed... something to do with a rivet (ie manufacturing/material defect). Repair bill (new turbo + 10h labour) comes to just over £4k.
Mine also suffers from the rear calipers seizing due to water seeping past a leaky sealing boot. They're recalling 300k cars worldwide, but not in the UK.
Apart from the above, its been a good car which suited my needs. A bit saggy around corners, perhaps, but its not pretending to be an MX5.
Customer Service from my local Mazda Dealer is good.
