Best car in class - not that you'd know from the amount seen on the road

I previously had a 2014 Sport Nav 120ps and liked it so much I changed to the facelifted car with the (rare) 165ps engine.

What a great car to drive: everything feels well engineered and the driver/vehicle connection, that Mazda talk about in their marketing, really does feel present. The 165ps version feels quicker than the engine output suggests thanks to much shorting gearing than the 120ps version. This spec level would have classified as a hot hatch in late 80s/early 90s: it is nippy and very enjoyable to drive, even around town.
