FREE VOLVO SAFETY INSPECTION

Sat, 20 Sep 2008
Volvo is offering its drivers a free safety inspection to check over their car’s mechanical components, critical computers and control units. Worth £56, the inspection takes around 40 minutes to complete and provides a full test to check that the car is still performing to the high level of safety demanded at initial production.

All Volvo drivers with a car built after 1991 can take advantage of this complimentary inspection by visiting one of 200 Volvo facilities in the UK who have the necessary VIDA (Volvo Information and Diagnostics for Aftersales) system. This offer is available now and remains in place until 31 December 2008.

VIDA provides a direct connection to Volvo in Sweden, allowing the latest software upgrades to be downloaded directly to a driver’s car. The system also displays any technical information and individual service actions which need attention on each car.

The free Volvo safety inspection usually costs £56 including VAT and forms part of a full Volvo service. It is a thorough check of the car’s systems including:

*

Checking and, in some cases, upgrading the car's critical computers and control units.
*

A direct connection to the Volvo factory in Sweden, via VIDA, to download or advise of any free or chargeable system upgrades.
*

An inspection of mechanical components and explanation of any work that is required, and the associated cost.

Volvo customers who already use the Volvo dealer network for service and maintenance can have the reassurance that this inspection forms part of the Volvo Service Programme and all appropriate upgrades would have been carried out at their last service.
