Is it worth paying £30 for a protected no-claims bonus?

My insurer is charging me £30 for a protected no-claims bonus. Is this worth having? I understand that premiums rise anyway if you have an accident.

It depends how many years no-claims you have built-up and how much your insurance is. If you only have a couple of years NCB, it's probably not worth it. However, if you have a substantial amount and it equates to a sizeable reduction in the premium, it probably is.
