RAC Direct Insurance is to start using a panel of approved insurers - should I be concerned?

RAC Direct Insurance is moving from a direct insurer to using a panel of RAC-approved insurers. As a private motorist (pensioner), should I be concerned and shop around for other quotes? I have been an RAC member for many years and have insured my car with them for the last five years or so.

That means it will be a broker, not an insurer and may well get involved in dubious commission-earning practices such as calling in accident management companies and credit hire operators for claims.
