Honda CR-V (2012 - 2018)
2.0 i-VTEC EX 155 Auto 5dr
Reliable, loads of space 38mpg + on a run
I've had this car nearly 5 years. It gave better mpg than a mazda 6 diesel estate! I had 2 clutches in my 8th Gen diesel Accord so went for the auto.
Good points.
-Totally reliable. Zero anxiety of DPF or turbo failure
-Auto box is great especially as it has long ratios.
-589L boot so plenty of space. It's bigger than a Q5!
-Cruises at 80mph at about 2200 rpm making a quiet ride.
-Petrol version is light so handles better down country lanes than diesel. Handles like a car.
-Got 38mpg with a full car driving 150 miles of twisty roads to Wales overtaking twice.
17" wheels give better ride and Goodyear Eff grip last for over 5 years!
Bad points.
Can feel slightly under powered when driving up steep hills. Totally fine 99% of the time. Power is linier so misleading.
18" wheels I found a little harsh so went for 17" diamond cut black wheels. I find them great at 35psi.
Short journeys and traffic ruin mpg but the auto box helps make it relaxing.
Its a moonroof not sun roof! It doesn't open! Still nice though.
