  So it was a quiet day at BCA Blackbushe. A very clean but 88k mile 99V Jaguar 3.0 V6 S-Type SE auto, complete with leather, wood rim wheel and a V6 plate, sold for a high £9,950. But in Hall 2 an unwarranted mileage 86D Daimler Sovereign SIII sold for £600 which had to be less than its very recent paint job.

  While a diverse selection, the common theme was their superb condition. From the 1970 Mini Cooper ‘S’ MkIII at £12,330 to the 1993 Range Rover LSE at £4,670 buyers did not find condition wanting, but the title of ‘best-presented car of the sale’ fell without doubt to the 1972 Lotus Elan +2S 130. This was perhaps the best example on offer anywhere today and made an appropriately stunning £19,050.
