  Not enough of the right used cars for the market are keeping prices up. The closest to sensible money were a pair of 04 Ford C-Max, with 61k and 62k miles, which sold for £6,400 and £6,350. A section of VWs, BMWs and Renaults from Help Hire was subject to high reserves and very few were actually knocked down.

  The size is 3,925mm long by 1,680mm wide by 1,545mm high: slightly smaller but taller than the 4,020mm x 1,708mm x 1,503mm Fiesta Fusion. Cargo space is 330 litres with the seats up. Engines are Ford’s 75ps 1.25 litre Zetec S /Duratec 16v, 80ps 1.4 litre, 100ps 1.6 litre and 66ps 1.4 litre PSA/Ford 1.4 common rail diesel. Transmission options include an automated manual shift for both petrol and diesel engines (answering the often asked question: why no small diesel automatics?).

  This 2004/54 S-Type 2.7V6 diesel auto had done 115k miles, but £9,000 was a new low to me for an S-Type diesel. So was £5,450 for a 102k mile 2004/54 X-Type diesel Classic. I got the distinct impression that businesses with big stocks of cars were quite anxious to offload them today before prices fall.

  Classic car boot returns to London’s Southbank 25 Feb 2015 (News)
  The Classic Car Boot Sale with ‘Vintage Presents’ will return to Southbank Centre on 14-15 March 2015, with more than 100 vehicles and traders selling vintage fashion, homewares and memorabilia from the boot of their motors.
