Volkswagen Corrado (1989 - 1995) - 92 2.9 VR6 MoT CO emissions fail - any ideas? 22 Jan 2009 (Forum)
I promptly forgot about this for this year, of course the MOT tester this time wasn't prepared to fiddle around and try lots of times to get it through. So results:
Fast Idle RPM: 2598 Pass CO: 0.571 Fail (max 0.3) HC: 39 Pass Lambda: 0.988 Pass 2nd Fast Idle Test RPM: 2616 Pass CO: 0.504 Fail (max 0.3) HC: 32 Pass Lambda: 0.989 Pass Natural Idle test RPM: 704 Pass CO: 0.429 Pass (max 0.5)
I watched as he tested, and the CO fluctuated in and out of the PASS zone each time a test was run at constant RPM. -
C-Max impressions 24 Feb 2006 (Forum)
As mentioned in another thread I have been driving a C-Max 1.6 TDCi Zetec for a few days. Generally very easy to drive and impressively flexible for a 1.6 ltr diesel even five up though has a lot less ultimate urge than the 2.0. The electrically assisted steering is interesting, the Sport setting makes it feel responsive on the back roads though nervous in a straight line above 50 mph, the Standard setting is ideal though the Comfort setting would certainly help the elderly or slight with parking. -

Ford focus 02 1.6 Zetec - Loosing power steering fluid after MOT 10 Jul 2010 (Forum)
A quick glace at the road underneath the car revealed a rapidly growing pink puddle of power steering fluid. Having paid the MOT garage for some ford P/S fluid, (MC2 195-A, £20 a bottle, if you're wondering) I've filled it up and run it for a few minutes and the poorly sounding pump sounds a lot happier. However, when the engine is running, the fluid leaks with 1 drip every second or so from underneath the engine on the drivers side somewhere.
