  I like the Omega for its solidity and exec feel but does that translate into boring? I've had a 2.0 auto Omega which was quite dull in its power delivery - are the V6's more entertaining? The spec on the Mondeo is staggering but I know little about the car as a package. In my experience, Vauxhall Opel cars seem better built than Fords (well at least you're less able to see where corners have been cut) Any advice between these two or am I considering apples vs pears?

  Then they both stopped working altogether so again I though sod it I will just use the key as it is no big deal and I dislike paying main s****** prices. Then yesterday the wife was out shopping tried to open the boot with the key and it opened a little but the latch was not fully disengaging and the boot could not be opened. I tried it myself and it will open a little but the latch is still holding it.

  To describe the sound its like a very light rattle, like a nut is shaking or something. Interestingly I used to get a similar sound from my 1998 (s reg) 1.25 fiesta that had done 92k miles - hence why I am a bit worried about this one. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks

  Hi Guys, I have a 1996 Escort 1.8 Turbo Diesel (50,000 miles) that?s really struggling to start in the cold mornings. Basically its taking to the 3rd or 4th attempt to get turning over fully and its very (engine bouncing out the bonnet stuff!) rough until I put in plenty of revs and let it idle for 20 seconds or so.

  Bearing in mind I don't drive a great deal of miles, high mileage and low miles per gallon aren't a great concern. One of things that has appeared on the radar in recent weeks is a couple of old 520's. These seem nice enough (for the age - 1990, 125K miles). My only concern is the cost of parts. I realise that if I was crazy and took it to a BMW garage it would cost an arm and a leg, and that it is likely to cost more than a ford fiesta to run.

  The new 2005 model Ford Focus for example is 184 cms (compared to the current model at 170.2 cms), and if you include the mirrors 199.1 cms, which is wider than the current BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C Class. As a fan of the current model Ford Focus, I question whether we need these continually larger vehicles and where will this eventually lead.

    So partly because it's got to need more repairs going forward and partly jusy because it's scruffy and I can afford to replace it without finance next year I've started thinking what next?   Budget will be 10K max, ideally a bit less. Looking at another 3 year old car to dodge the worst of the depreciation. A Mk4 Mondeo is the first candidate. Anything else I should look at? Requirements - big boot (got to be hatchback or estate) at or near Mondeo size.

  I suspect that bacteria in the aircon system may be causing throat & chest infections. If I run the system on max heat with the aircon on through the face level vents for 15 minutes should this clear any bacteria.

  I went to a Kia dealer to test drive a used automatic Kia Sorento KX-3, 2015. When I tried to shift the gear lever from Parking to Drive I couldn’t, it just wouldn't move. The sales person tried as well and couldn’t. Then a mechanic came and opened a little flap that covered a tiny hole next to the gear lever.
