  • Focus heated windscreen replacement 3 Jun 2003 (Forum)
Does anyone know whether the heated screens can be replaced by Autoglass/Autowindscreens etc etc, or is it a job for Ford ? Also, any idea of cost ? If it's done by autoglass/autowindscreens, we just pay the £50 excess, elsewhere the insurance will pay out a max of £125 (on top of the excess). Thanks mb

  • Duratec Engines... Reliable ? 11 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Hi all, I am picking up a ford Ka on sunday. 2003 model. 13,600 miles from new with full ford s/h. It has the 1.3i duratec engine fitted. Are these reliable engines, and what are they like to work on for basic servicing. Thanks all.
  • Intermittent Wipe fault - Ford Scorpio 13 Jan 2004 (Forum)

  • ford focus - Particles, Catalitic converters, DPF's, Diesel??? 9 Jul 2011 (Forum)
In an article I read some time ago about particles, it said that particles are not all one size pm10's. They come in all sizes from PM1's upwards. It seems that the Eu has picked on PM10's as they are the most common size produced by diesels and what triggered that I imagine was someone seeing an old diesel engine under load pumping out clouds of black smoke.
  • Ford Focus 2008 1.6tdci 110ps - Bleeding the cooling sistem on 1.6 tdci 110ps 4 Jul 2016 (Forum)
EGR gases on this model are liquid cooled using the engine coolant and by removing the egr radiator I've lost some coolant. Now that I have toped it off to the max level some air came out but in order to "corectly"bleed the sistem most cars have a bleeder valve wich I have not managed to locate on my car. Any sugestions?
  • Are there any modern diesels without a DMF? 23 Sep 2009 (Forum)
Thinking about changing the car (again) and I've got a preference for diesel (based on driving characteristics and economy) but seriously concerned about DMF problems that seem common place. Does anyone know of any modern, mainstream diesels (Ford, Vauxhall etc) that don't have a DMF fitted? For instance, I heard the Ford 1.8 TDCi doesn't have one. Anyone know if that's true? Or should I just go for petrol? Consensus of opinion seems to be that it's a much safer bet.
  • economics of engine manufacturing 31 Oct 2005 (Forum)
I was noticing an advert in VW's "Incredible, but true" series which told me that the price of the cheapest Golf Plus was less than that of the cheapest Ford C-Max. I checked and discovered that this was indeed true - but that the cheapest Golf Plus had a 0-60 time of 16.0 seconds - slower than any model that Ford sells in this country. In other words, the answer to the question "How do they sell them so cheap?"
  • Euro iv compliant diesels 8 Dec 2003 (Forum)
Looking for a new company car and see that Ford at about to bring out a Euro iv compliant Mondeo TDCI 130 bhp. However rather than better emissions and economy its worse - 159g/km against 154g/km and combined mpg of 39.2 against 48.7. Have Ford rushed this to market - I\'m not aware of any other manufacturers who have produced euro iv complaint engines with worse figures.
