If you were serious about selling your car privately, would you gauge the price to be in line with Glass's part exchange values? A friend has asked me to help him buy his first car privately, and with a max budget of £2500, everything on Autotrader which I have looked at is well in excess of the Glass's p/ex valuations. Some private sellers are asking circa £2200, yet Glass's quote a p/ex value of only £1390 if in excellent condition.£1075 if poor. -

Recently I have noticed that whilst driving, the temperature guage needle is very slightly higher than normal i.e. instead of being exactly between min and max it is slightly higher up. Also I have noticed whitish smoke from the exhaust although I am still not sure whether this is normal and just caused by the hot exhaust gases (water) condensing on the cooler outside air. -

The level on the dipstick was only a few millimetres (about 4 mm) above the minimum mark. Although when I check it on the level it is at least halfway between min and max. My concern is that there will not be enough oil in the engine to lubricate it when I start the car when it is on a hill for example or is this assumption wrong ? thank you. -

Can anyone suggest what my problem may be? I have just bought a 53 reg. Mondeo 2L TDCi (Zetec S) 6-spd manual. When left overnight - or until properly cold - the gearbox is very stiff, with the gears being very difficult to engage until I have travelled about 1/2 mile or so, when it becomes much easier to change gear. -

Reading between different sites, iv come to the conclusion it should be in the region of 7 g/s@800rpm . Sensor shows 2 g/s when engine is not running and 14 g/s @ 835rpm(idle). That brings me to the next problem, the engine idle should be 800 rpm, would a faulty MAF cause this to rise? -
