  Ok, so my C-Max has quite a few issues ... One of them which will cause some grief one day is the fact that the reversing lights don't come on when selecting reverse gear. Apart from this the rear lights work fine.

  Hi Just bought a Focus (C-max) and one of the very few disappointments is that if the window is open more than half an inch or if the radio is on more than half a decibel, I can't hear the click of the turn indicators from the dashboard.

  My wifes C~max 1.6 auto TDI has been into the garage numerous times for an oil leak problem.The engine,turbo and surrounding area has a mist covering of oil , the turbo induction hose and the turbo outlet hose to the metal type hose all have oil internally and i have been told by another mechanic these should be dry inside thus the turbo is pulling oil through.The car has only covered 10,000 miles on an 04 plate any advice to fix or is this a problem on this model ?

  I'm attracted by the low prices of the C-Max on the Ford Direct web site - under £13k for a 9-month old 2.0tdci ghia for example (nearly £19k list). They look good cars - is there a catch, beyond the obvious depreciation that Fords/Vauxhalls always suffer?

  My family and I may visit today a local showroom - i phoned and was adsvised to make an appointment - my feeling is that it is under cover in the showroom. They have the Ghia version. Does the car have the same TDCi engines and CVT as the FF-C Max? The CVT in the c-max has not been built for months and honest dealers are not accepting orders. Will the new Focus have the same problems as the c-max? Not sure if we will have time to visit today - but certainly visit by next week - will post my findings here.

  Very tempted by the local Ford offer of a new C-Max 2.0 Tdci Ghia in silver at £12995. Reports seem mixed -good build quality and nice to drive. Lots of room and well equipped and should be nippy. On the down side the cabin is a bit narrow and I'm told economy isn't great.

  Hello fellow swarfega users, In an effort to please my better half I bought her a low mileage c max which she likes. The air con comes on every time the car is started up -Fords way of making sure the system doesnt fail through lack of use I suppose. There is a whining noise as though the compressor has a dry bearing but this disappears when you switch off the air con.
