  • Bargains Bought, Despite Auction Frenzy Today 21 Sep 2005 (News)
£8,700 for a 3 year old 42k mile 2002/52 Golf TDI PD 130 can only be justified because the market still regards it as a car that will make them look better than being seen driving a Ford. Badge is everything. Which is why a 34k mile 2003/52 Focus TCCI 115 Zetec sold for £2,000 less. On the other hand, despite the VW on the front, a 48k mile 02 reg Passat TDI PS 100 sold for a sensible £5,800.

Full of the ‘bling’ factor, the un-stretched Excursion has also attracted attention from a range of other world famous rap stars.
  • Mini Adventure at Auction Today 7 Feb 2005 (News)

A 15k mile 03 reg Ford Ka with the new 70PS ohc engine looked on the low side to me at a top bid of £2,675. By strange coincidence there were two Mazda MX6s in the day’s sales. The 85k mile 96P sold for £1,750 and the 117k mile 95N sold for £975.

  • All three Mazda MX-5s finish Britcar 24 hour race 3 Oct 2011 (News)
Early in the race an impact caused a fuel leak that necessitated a repair to the GT car's fuel cell, effectively putting the car out of contention for the race. Notwithstanding this setback the Mazda MX-5's honour was upheld by the remaining two cars.  These were two standard production MX-5s with the addition of safety equipment required for racing but with the same power and basic set-up found on the road car.
