Audi set to confuse the world with strangely illogical name change 23 Aug 2017 (News)
According to the new nomenclature, the spectrum will initially range from the Audi A1 25 TFSI with 70kW (95PS) to the Audi A8 55 TFSI with 250kW (340PS). A special place in the line-up is occupied by the high-end, high-performance S and RS models and the Audi R8. They will retain their classic names in reference to their top position in the model range. Audi justifies this with the statement: “As alternative drive technologies become increasingly relevant, engine displacement as a performance attribute is becoming less important to our customers. -

In an era of greater regulatory freedom, F1’s star designers constantly sought to steal a march on the opposition, experimenting with different engine and chassis configurations, outlandish aerodynamics and even extra wheels. Having optimised the new ground effect technology with the Type 78 in 1977, Lotus dominated the 1978 championship with the 79 – one of the most dominant F1 cars of all time. -

Volvo to replace batteries with nano powered body panels 17 Oct 2013 (News)
The intake plenum cover has also been formed from the material and is powerful enough to supply energy to the car’s 12 Volt system and replace the need for a battery to power the S80’s strop/start system. What's more, Volvo believes the complete substitution of an electric car’s existing components with the new material could cut the overall weight by more than 15 per cent.
