Ab Fab car goes on show at Beaulieu 15 Jul 2016 (News)
It will join the celebrity, TV and film greats in On Screen Cars at Beaulieu, alongside Elvis’ Cadillac, Del Boy’s Reliant Regal from BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses, the flying Ford Anglia from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Wallace and Gromit’s Anti-Pesto Van. The Piaggio Ape can be seen in On Screen Cars as part of a visit to the whole Beaulieu attraction, which includes the National Motor Museum, the World of Top Gear, the 13 th century Beaulieu Abbey and grounds and Palace House, which has been home to the Montagu family since 1538. -
Rally driver Toivonen remembered at Race Retro 15 Jan 2016 (News)
To mark this occasion, a display of ex-Toivonen cars is being put together by Peter Clarke, the team principal of PCA Motorsports, for whom Toivonen drove in the 1979 Lombard rally. The display will include the original Mk2 Ford Escort RS1800 driven by Toivonen in 1979. There will also be examples of the Talbot Sunbeam which Toivonen took to victory in the 1980 Lombard Rally, as well as the Rothmans Opel Ascona (B) he successfully campaigned during 1982-3 season. -

Registrations of alternatively fuelled cars have more than doubled to 11,468 units in the first half of the year, and grew by 157.4% in June. Registrations of 'signposted' eco-models, such as SEAT's Ecomotive, Ford's Econetic and VW's Bluemotion - have risen by 141.4% in the first half of 2010 to almost 74,000 units and by almost 850% on the first half of 2008. "Continued vehicle manufacturer efforts to improve fuel efficiency and cut emissions has further reduced average CO2 output during a better than anticipated first half of 2010," said Paul Everitt, SMMT chief executive. -
