    Vauxhall, Britain’s oldest surviving car manufacturer, will be celebrating its heritage by taking part in this year’s London to Brighton veteran car run.  The Luton-based firm will be entering a 1904 6hp single-cylinder open two-seater from its heritage collection in the event, which takes place on Sunday, 2 November. As well as taking part in the run, the car will also feature in the Regent Street Motor Show the day before.

  • Report: London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, 2013 4 Nov 2013 (News)
    It was the first British car to win an international motor race and its distinctive colour was the origin of British Racing Green. The other two Napiers lining up in Hyde Park London for this year’s Veteran Car Run – one powered by a 7.7-litre engine the other by an even more potent 11.1-litre unit – competed in the Gordon Bennett Cup races in 1903 and 1904. While the three Napiers grabbed the headlines, the 2013 London to Brighton run for pre-1905 cars, also attracted a number of exceptional entries all enjoying an unseasonably sunny run to the coast.
  • The Liver Run remembered 13 Aug 2013 (News)
    I've seen this before on TV - the famous Liver Run, where two Rover SD1 police cars need to transfer a live human organ for transportation in a very limited amount of time. The journey takes place on 8 May 1987, and starts at Stansted Airport in Essex, and the traffic officer needs to drive the liver along some of the UK's busiest roads in the centre of London, to Cromwell Hospital, Kensington.
  • First Ever Skoda to Compete in London to Brighton Run 5 Nov 2010 (News)
    The Voiturette A will be on view to the public in Regent Street, London on Saturday (6 November) during the LBVCR International Concours event (11.00-15.00). The start of the 77th running of the LBVCR, the world's longest running motoring event, takes place on Sunday (7 November) in Hyde Park (07.00-08.30). From there, around 500 cars will make the 60 mile journey to the finish on Madeira Drive on Brighton’s seafront (10.00-16.40).
