• c class Merc - Merc c200 LPG problems 8 Apr 2010 (Forum)
  Car was converted to dual fuel 18 months ago. Its been running fine on  LPG. Problems started at weekend. LPG is a sequential 4 cylinder  type. Car runs as normal until it switches over to LPG runs OK then the LPG shuts down in the same way it would on an empty lpg tank.

  Changing to LPG for the above car which has only done 44500m over last 7 yrs.local garage selling LPG at 66p pl, m/way at j5 m18 1/2 m away at 74p. Cost to change is £1395.00 all in with free 2yrs servicing on LPG system and a full 70l tank of LPG to start me off.

  All larger filling stations now sell LPG. More and more fleet buyers are moving to LPG. I just swopped leased petrol Falcon for for a dedicated LPG Falcon. I dont notice much difference till I see the numbers turn over on the petrol pump LPG is here to stay.

  I have a astra with LPG conversion today when I filled it up with lpg, the gauge when runing on LPG still shows the level where it was before i filled up. When runing on petrol the fuel gauge is fine. Does any one know if the fuel gauges in the lpg tank are pressure sensors or normal type fuel gauges and hence may just be stuck, Any ideas Thanks

  Do you know if the fitment of an emergency auto-release mechanism is a legal requirement on garage forecourts on LPG nozzles. A friend (Not an acronym for me), has just pulled away from an LPG pump without disconnecting the nozzle. The attendant stated that the auto-release had not operated and there was damage to the car and the pump.

  Ignoring the cost of petrol and LPG , does this sound right and how does it compare to a deisel car in terms of fuel efficiency? Price of petrol is approx £1.28 Lpg price is £0.6 from local lpg station which is cheaper than big stations.

  The only other suggestion I have had is that there is a small air leak in the LPG fuel system causing the fuel mixture to be too lean to support combustion. Any suggestions, or have any of your other readers had similar problems with LPG?

  Hello beackroom Is there a method whereby a vehicle is converted to run on LPG, and this system can be used to bring air conditioning to the vehicle itself. I have noticed that LPG is very cold as a liquid and it would be good to use this for the cabin.   Thanks GREG

  The reason why I ask is a nearby Morrisons supermarket were selling LPG at 29.9p/litre!, nearly a third of the price of diesel at 83.9p/litre. Should I be driving down to the nearest LPG converter?
