If the battery is disconnected to bring it indoors to use with the battery conditioner, is there likely to be any problem with the codes for the key, radio etc.? -
Any - Battery and Alternator Management Systems 30 Jan 2014 (Forum)
My son's driving pattern has changed dramatically from doing 2 x 47 miles per day to just 2 x 3 miles per day and all his instuments, radio and trip computer are losing data and losing radio code etc. However there is always plenty of power to start the car before each journey. It appears to be the original battery. -
BMW 5-Series E39 (1996 - 2003) - Intermittent loss of sound from stereo & satnav 20 Aug 2011 (Forum)
I have a 5 series E39 with factory fitted sat/nav and tv and wondered if anyone has experienced intermittent sound loss with a similar system. The sound goes completely from all sources, ie radio, cd, tv or whatever you happen to be enjoying ! Sometimes turning the stereo off and back on again works - but not always. I have had the amp checked (no probs) and someone else has said i need to replace the radio control unit - but at a cost of £900 am hoping to find an alternative solution. -
What do you like to listen to in the car? 18 May 2011 (Forum)
I'm also a bit nosy ;-P I have an absolute horde of CDs full of classic rock, heavy metal and a little punk to entertain me on my commute to work. My car has a Bose soundsystem in it, so music sounds awesome. I had a DAB radio in my old car which I miss very much (Planet Rock fan!!) but I don't want to wreck my fascia by installing it in my current car. What does everyone like to have on the radio when they drive? -

Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 00 2.0Hdi - Battery replacement 28 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Hi. Battery (2.5yrs old) suddenly died today, I did have the radio on (not full ignition) for a couple of hours prior to trying to start, within three attempts of turning it over the battery was completely flat. Radio/1st ignition was taking 0.22A so shouldn't have drained the battery that quickly? -
Ford Fiesta (1995 - 1999) - (95-99) 1.8 diesel endura electrical problem 24 Jan 2008 (Forum)
hi hope someone can help, my battery has been draining flat if left for day and half, traced it to the top right fuse in under steering fuse box, when puting a fuse with a bulp on im getting a pulsing bulb?..........thing that makes this even more strange is the radio is on the same fuse, its not supposed to be going by the fuse box lid, any idea what this fuse is for? and why it pulses continuously? 1: radio is not wired to the ignition for some reason, have to turn it of by hand 2: i havent got the beeping noise if leaving the lights on and turning engine of and opening door? -
J Reg Rover 214 3 Door 21 Jan 2006 (Forum)
I have an intermittent fault affecting car stereo speakers (all 4, front & rear) only. Road bumps will cause tape radio or cd to loose speaker output TOTALLY. Radio tape cd remains operative with full front display. Slamming passenger door (or tailgate) can bring back audio. It is not I.C.E. unit as I have tried 3 different ones. -
Milage reset on New Fiat Punto Active. 15 Jan 2006 (Forum)
I have question on a new Fiat Punto Active 1.2, 8 valve? New in October 2005. I was programming the radio channels, (buttons are way too small on this radio) and at the same time was resetting the multifunction readout, (MPG, trip etc.). Somehow I managed to reset the milometer to zero! This was a big surprise to me and the owner. -
Vauxhall Vectra Fuse/Relay Help 14 Nov 2004 (Forum)
Hi, I have a 1997 Vauxhall Vectra V6 SRi, yesterday when i turned the radio on and off very quickly the dash display froze, I had to disconnect the battery to get it to go off. On reconnecting the battery the instrument panel is not working, no speed, fuel gauge, also no indicators, no electric windows and no electric exterior mirrors are working, I have checked all the ordinary fuses within the car all seem to be ok, the radio now works ok again but these new problems have come about. -

Amplified Aerial? Vaux Vectra. 21 Sep 2003 (Forum)
I suspect my 98 Vectra has an amplified Aerial, as I have inserted an inline modulator to the aerial cable to allow me to plug in a minidisk player and listen to it via a preset radio station, and now my radio reception is very bad. The degradation in the received signal is too great to be insertion loss due to adding in the modulator. I am assuming that the aerial receives power for the amp via the coax aerial cable, hence by adding an inline modulator the aerial is no longer receiving power and therefore not amplifying the signal. -
Fiat flat battery 15 Jul 2001 (Forum)
Based on this, the battery might well go flat in a week. Doing a bit of investigation he found that removing the face from the face-off radio reduced this drain to 70mA - nearer the figure we would have expected. It seems unbelieveable that the front display panel of a radio would draw 130mA. What do the usual suspects think on this one?
