• VW/Golf - Drive Shaft 9 May 2011 (Forum)
  Not only will this cost £300, but there is also a surcharge of £150 which will be refunded if VW can use the broken part again. Does this sound right? The garage has said this is a very common problem on VW 07 cars. This is very annoying as there are only 25k of miles on the clock. Has anyone managed to get VW to replace this post the warranty running out.

  Con probably being the operative word. The first day this year when I *really* needed the aircon, which I incidentally use all year, we have another minor explosion and then pfffffffffffffffft noise. No cold air.   It has been and continues to be relatively problem free though there are a few scratches and stone chips and the alloys have a few dings commensurate with the mileage and use it gets.
