Nissan Primera P12 - 2003 - CD player problem following battery change 12 Nov 2013 (Forum)
Hello, After changing the battery everything in the car is working fine, bar the CD player. When I try to eject the disc it just makes a clicking sound as if the mechanism is trying to push the disc out, but it stays in. The radio is working, and the current CD will play. -

Ford Focus 1.6 petrol 2001 - Intermittent starting problem 9 Dec 2010 (Forum)
Occasionally the starter motor does not turn the engine at all. After one or more further attempts it succeeds and the engine starts normally. The battery is about 4 years old. I would prefer not to replace the battery or starter motor on the basis of a guess (or even a retailer's battery test, call me a cynic). If anyone has a better suggestion I'd be very grateful. -

Just about to leave on a longish trip. The battery warning light is now on. I possibly heard a faint clonk on starting, there is possibly a bit more of a whirring buzz than before, but the belt is moving. I was supposed to leave 30 minutes ago! Now this has just happened! -

General: battery costs 26 Nov 2004 (Forum)
The battery in my MB E320 Coupé is just giving out after eight years (I think it's the original). Checking around, I find (incl. VAT): Halfords 75Ah (HB096) £64.99 Bosch 72Ah from GFS (German, French, Swedish) £52.88 MB dealer 62Ah £79.59 (including £13.10 for acid as a separate item) MB dealer 100Ah alternative £121.58 (ditto) Bosch it is then, and not just on price grounds. -
Solar battery chargers - any good 29 May 2004 (Forum)
My wife has a short journey (about a mile) to and from work, and the car battery doesn't really have time to get charged enough even to replace what it uses to start the engine. Has anyone used a solar powered trickle charger? Are they any good? I know that "walk" or "get the bus" are alternative solutions, but as the car is all paid for I don't think I would win that argument! -
A basic (perhaps even stupid) question 3 Nov 2003 (Forum)
I know that shrugged shoulders of despair will result, but please sympathize and indulge me by answering these questions: Can the battery on my Saab 9.3 Tid be charged (with a mains operated battery charger) in situ whilst still connected to the electrics ? Apart from the radio code, do I need to be aware anything else if the battery is disconnected: ie will the ECU and other electronic gubbins reset itself etc ? -

Why are short journeys in my BMW 118d insufficient to charge the battery? 20 Nov 2010 (Ask HJ)

Mazda MX5 roadster coupe - Battery keeps going flat 21 Aug 2020 (Forum)
again no fault found .Sometimes the battery was discharged after the car had only been left undriven for 3-4 days.so i never know if it is going to start. Dealer has replaced one battery as it had become damaged by being flat so much ,they have carried out parasidic draw tests to see if there is undue drain on battery while car is parked ,no fault found. all tests show no fault with car. -
Dodge Caliber - Car won't start - battery issue? 8 Jan 2019 (Forum)
I took it to a national, reuptable servicing company after a couple of times of it not starting who ran a diagnositc on the battery and they said it neeed a re-charge and to go on a long journey (apparently i do too many short journeys and it doesn't re-charge properly). Given that i have a battery charging device, i didn't do the long journey but re-charged the battery, but this hasn't worked. -

Time for a new battery? (Part ii) Civic 9 Jan 2006 (Forum)
I commute 100 miles per day Mon-Fri, so this is not likely to be a problem during the week, but the car is not used at weekends, so I need to get this sorted to avoid having to jump-start every Monday morning! Battery was purchased from Halfords (3 yr guarantee) so I took the car down to the store near to my place of work to get it checked today. "Good Battery," says helpful Halfords chap. He suggests that something is draining the battery. -
Tuning box/Battery probs 18 Oct 2001 (Forum)
The next day after having the unit fitted, I started the car and drove to work with no problems. Later that day when I attempted to start the car, the battery was completely dead! The battery is the original Vauxhall Delco maintenance free battery, and is only 15 months old! How can a battery just suddenly fail without any warning whatsoever? Any one had any experience of this before? -
