Market Beginning to Level at Auction 4 Oct 2002 (News)
Sensible reserves made for some lively sales at BCA Blackbushe today as vendors and traders either tried to guess the October market, or simply bought to pre-order. A couple of 02 reg BMWs may have been reserved just a tad high for the mood of the day, though. The bright red 5,260 mile 530i Sport auto in the photo started at £23,000 but a last bid of £24,500 didn’t buy it straight away. -

Scrappage Survivors and Big Bargains at Auction today 19 Apr 2010 (News)
There was a fair old fight for a 39k mile 2004/54 BMW 745iL 4.4 auto, that eventually sold for £12,600s, more than £3,000 below book, which tends to suggest some adjustment is needed in the books for the big stuff. Unless there’s a retail buyer ready and waiting it’s a big risk these days, More 2007/56 Foxtons R56 MINI Coopers came under the hammer: the 58k miler sold for £7,000 and the 37k miler for £7,700.

More Hybrids Sell at Auction Today 13 Jul 2007 (News)
A 29k 06 reg Audi A6 2.0TDI SE with satnav was £17,000, a 53k 03 reg Porsche Cayenne 4.5S with some unusual additions was £23,600, and a pristine 13k mile 05 Mercedes SL55AMG sold for £58,200. And there was a big fight for a 124k mile 04 reg BMW 730d Sport with satnav that eventually went for £16,450. But, as usual, some of the bidding ran away with itself. I know it’s unusual to see a 46k mile 02 Focus 1.4LX with alloys, air and CD, but this one sold for £4,200 to a private man, possibly because of the low insurance rating.

He moved to the United States in 1980, driving for Dick Barbour Racing, capturing the IMSA Camel GT Championship in the process.
Why 2019 could be the best time to buy a diesel 1 Feb 2019 (News)
This suggests they are losing their appeal at the expensive end of the used car market, as more affluent buyers are opting for other options from the likes of Audi, BMW, Volvo and Mercedes-Benz – where petrol variants are showing comparatively buoyant valuations." Buttle added that it's not just premium SUVs that are being hit by the anti-diesel resentment.

The future of car safety 8 Jun 2015 (News)
But in 1978, when ABS was first introduced into series production, it was limited to just two models – the Mercedes Benz S-Class and the BMW 7-series . At the time it might have been radical to think such technology would be mandatory on all cars. So what of the future? What can we expect to see as standard safety equipment in the years to come?
MG Rover's demise - ten years on 7 Apr 2015 (News)
Leading up to that fateful day in April 2005, it was no secret that MG Rover had financial problems. It hadn’t been an easy ride ever since BMW sold the remains of the Rover Group to the Phoenix Consortium – led by John Towers – in 2000. So when the announcement came that MG Rover was going into administration, it was a shock – but perhaps not a complete surprise.
Packed starting grids at Croft Circuit this weekend 9 Sep 2011 (News)
On sheer pace, Jeff Wilson’s sensational Lotus Elise ‘silhouette’ is a firm favourite for victory – he has won every time out this year – but two missed rounds earlier in the season look set to cost the established Newcastle-upon-Tyne racer dear as he is back in sixth in the overall standings. Instead victory in class in all ten races to date mean BMW driver Mike Cutt from York almost has one hand on the trophy already. Class E3 leader Martin Lightfoot (Stockton-on-Tees) is Cutt’s nearest rival in his Striker TR, closely followed by other class B protagonists Ken Hall (Middlesborough) in his mighty MG Metro 6R4 and Mike Williamson (Stockton-on-Tees) in his Mitsubishi Evo IV.
