   OK, this was a shown on the car's computer and could be a bit optimistic but actual usage generally checked out; we also showed an average speed of 75 for all running time - not bad for a 3 litre V6 - I'm a 'Premium Fuel' convert.

  Audi A3 8PA 1.9tdi BKC 2005my mileage 88K Me again, seem to be having one problem after another.  Just went for a short run to warm car up from cold for its MOT.  During this run noticed black smoke in rear view mirror when accelerating hard after car was at operating temperature. Garage says no faults showing on diagnostic test.

  Hi I have a 1990 Bedford rascal camper which has been relatively ok, I decided to change spark plugs,points, condenser,rotor arm and distributor cap to give it a service and it started no problems fine.When I tried to start it today it started ok was running for a awhile then stopped. I tried to start it but it just won't fire up...., I checked plugs, ht leads and re checked points gap but nothing just can't get my head around it I'm no mechanic only a DIY merchant it was running ok before the change just took a while to start that's why I decided it was overdue for some new plugs etc.just need advice

  Hi. This evening my van cut out at a t-junction and would not start.It turns over ok but will not run. I called breakdown firm and they said it's probally the stop valve on pump or maybe fuel filter clogged. The cambelt was done about 14 months ago and he said it wasn't that. He sprayed some stuff in the air filter and it almost started but wouldn't run.

  Hi all I seem to have a problem with my sons corsa c 1.0cc, engine was running ok before I started work, just a bad timing chain rattle and signs of head gasket gone. cylinder head removed had it skimmed and pressure tested rebuilt engine with new gaskets and timing chain, on starting it run poorly with a sound of air being sucked in from inlet manifold I traced it to the square hole next to inlet port 3 I put my finger in the hole and engine idles 100 per cent.

  The original computer in and all the dash gauges work and the car starts but stops after a few seconds,Obviously the fuel imobilizer.Then i connect the second computer which her friend bought trying to fix the problem and the car starts and runs fine but none of the gauges work and my daughter is constinately running out of fuel.The alarm light on the dash is constinately on.Could you please tell me how i can fix this problem either by disconecting or by-passing the alarm system or the imobilizer or both completely but with the gauges working.I do not know if it is the UK System or the USA version as we live in Australia

  Car running perfectly, parked up at shop, on return engine started but refused to run above 1250 revs. It staggered back to the house emitting some smoke.  Message on screen "go to dealer" but that's not easy when there's not a (reliable/competent) one within a reasonable distance.

  I drive a Audi A41.9 TDI, 55plate, Automatic, from new running at 187K, with 90% motorway mileage in past 4 years (did 100K in 4 years). Runs well but has been bit expensive with 1K repair each year at least and change of tyres Mileage is only 36/gallon, I dont necessarily stay at 70-75, if I did it would be 42-46 Would it really save me good deal if I buy anothet 1.8-2 litrecar petrol or diesel?

I’d like to stay with Audi VW cars. I have driven a ’54 VW Passat Estate 1.9TDI from new. It has 120k miles on the clock, no DPF and runs well.

    Wow £12,295 for a brand new 7 seater diesel Chevrolet Captiva. Pretty much a re-bagged Vauxhall Antara. Remember Chevrolet are starting to run down their european operation but they have promised spares and this is identical to the vauxhall so spares should not be an issue. It gives the mid spec Dacia Duster 1.5 diesel at £11,595 a run for its money.

  I own a 2000 Ford Focus Zetec 2.0 ESP. The car runs fine but I've noticed that recently it's getting more and more difficult to engage a gear, particularly 1st and 2nd. The problem is more pronounced when the engine is cold but even after 20 minutes motorway running it is still quite stiff.

    The car now runs fine, all errors have been cleared and don't come back.   When I pull each of the injector plugs off in turn they all sound alike but ticking continues. I have not moved the car from the drive in case the noise leads to something catastophic.

    I've left the car where it is, and was thinking about syphoning out any fuel in the tank replacing it with petrol, and seeing if it will run through.  Has anyone got any advice on the matter?  Either to tell me to go ahead with it, or to definitely not do it! Cheers

  I travel to snowy Eastern France a couple of times each winter & my Legacy never lets me down in the snow. I dont think my budget will run to an Allroad so is an Avant Quattro as good as the VW in bad snow.My Legacy has low ratio lever & I run it on normal summer tyres but I'm worried the Avant won't be as good. Any advice please?

  Hi im having problems with my focus tddi, when on the way up to running temperature the oil light flickers and then on fully at running temperature, oil and oil filter change was about 2000-3000 miles ago, took it to the local garage and they said the switch is fine and had an oil pressure test done which confirmed low pressure, iv now had a new oil pump fitted and iv still got the same problem, the oil pickup doesn't seem blocked either.

  Would like to know at start up, do I have to keep the engine running at idle for a while before moving? if so, how long. On stopping do I need to keep the engine running for a while before turning off? How long. I have heard from others that this is required.

  I'm having to left foot brake and keep the engine running with my right. I am guessing that the injector pump is shot, as I believe the idle is all handled within it ? If it is, maybe it needs to go to the car cemetary in the sky ? Any help much appreciated........ebt
