• Audi A4 - Audi DPF SENSOR 1 May 2014 (Forum)
  I have an Audi A4 2.0 tdi 58 plate (2008) standard uk spec. My engine management light came on and I've been told the code means I need a new G450 DPF Sensor. I'll have this fitted later in the week but what I would like to know is will the DPF just continue to get clogged up if I continue driving or will the normal burn off still occur if I am doing only motorway miles at high speed?

  Hi   Im getting conflicting advice regarding if my car has a dpf or not. Its showing all the signs of a fault by trying to regenerate every drive. High idle, fan on nearly all the time etc. Someone memtioned a code on the info sticker in boot and acording to that i have a dpf.

  Hi I am considering buying a Skoda Octavia Estate 1.6 TDI CR  First of all were any of these made without a dpf fitted? Secondly how common are dpf faults on these.  I will be driving to work which is 13 miles away on the motorway.  I generally go on day trips on the weekend which can be quite far.

  Having been a very happy 520SE auto petrol owner for the last 15 years, i am looking at buying a stunning BMW 520DSE Automatic with 69k on a 60 plate which has already been serivced 3 time and looks to have done mainlly motorway driving. BUT I have seen worrying reports about the DPF. I only drive between 10-20 miles a day on a motorway so will may reach  70mph for about 5 mins. occasional longer drives. I am worried bout how soon I will need to replace dpf and at what cost.

  hi, i'm looking to buy a diesel around 2008 & 2009 but the more i look the more problems i seem to find, was originally looking at a mazda 6 2.0d sport but have read too many dpf issues, then looked at the vw passat r-line 2.0d but this also has a dpf, does anyone know if this engine is any good, i've read bad things about vag 2.0 diesels. i currently drive a vw golf 1.9 gt tdi 2003, great car hassle free done 128k and had since 46k, been ultra reliable.

I think the Fiat Qubo MPV and Fiorino van does as well Along with the light, there is an extensive section within the owners manual and additional tags around the gear stick on delivery explaining how a DPF works and what to do.

  I am trying to find out which 2008-10 astra 1.7cdti estates have a dpf. I believe from other sites on the internet that the 100 bhp ones do not, but there are some people that say they do, others they don't. There are references to vauxhallproductforum but that no longer exists.

  Hi, I'm thinking about buying a 2006 Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi estate, it has 55,000 miles on the clock and FSH. All the reading I'm doing about DPF is slightly worrying, but I do 360 miles per week and 50-60% is motoway driving, I read that long journeys help. Should I be worried? Thanks,
• Ford Fiesta 1.6 Diesel - Cambelt failure and DPF blockage 18 May 2016 (Forum)
    Head sent away for checking and skimmed but on putting the engine back together (over 3 weeks since breakdown!) the garage have now said that the engine won't start at all and that the DPF is blocked which is what caused the cambelt failure.  Is this likely?  The cost for fixing the DPF problem is quoted at approx. £1500 (on top of circa £1000 for work already done).

  Hi, Gents anyone put me right on this one, Ford mondeo Titanium 2.2 running as a cab so milage is racking up quickly, in an effort to pre-empt the inevitable failure of the dpf i have been looking at having it removed. The are legions of companies advertising this service, but the thing that drives me mad  is this desire to remap and download software to block the regen cycle, as far as i know the regen is only initiated by the sensors at either end of the dpf sensing the pressure difference between what is going in and what is coming out.

  I thought this would be the end of it but the very same day back to regens every 5 or 6 miles. I took it to a dpf specialist who said the pressures coming from the dpf were acceptable and said the dpf was ok but did suggest taking it back to Isuzu to check for software updates. Back at Isuzu dealers they did a software update but said this would not solve regen problem, they also did pressure checks and said the dpf is definitely blocked and would need to be sent off and cleaned at a cost of around 300 quid, they've already charged 100 odd quid to do the forced regen etc.

  Hello everyone, So i have a Mazda diesel 2.2 that has broken down and i found out that the problem was from the DPF, im wondering as i get it fixed should i just change to a Petrol Car? Or is there a way to be safe and the problem not hapenning again? I was driving mostly in town and country side road on a regular speed, i have an option to go to work by a motorway for a few miles will that help?

  Hello   My MPV has done about 39k miles and has just delivered to me from the service (official Mazda). As soon as I started the car, the DPF light was on and remained on during my entire drive home.    I will check with the garage tomorrow but can anybody advise why this is the case. I want to make sure that I understand this when I discuss it with Mazda.

    Will my car pass an MOT without a DPF? Yes!! There is no legal requirement to have a DPF fitted, so it is not required to pass a test. It does NOT affect the emissions, not that there is currently an emissions test on a Diesel in the UK anyway......

  Hi I hope you can help me. I have a Mazda 6 2007 Diesel (DPF) estate and I have recently noticed a oil leak from the cam cover the Gasket seems okay. I think it might be due to pressure in the cam cover how do I check the engine breather (PCV) is working correctly.

  Hi, In the last 2 months I have had none stop problems with the DPF filter, I hae taken it to the Volkswagon servicing, now the third time the filter is blocked and Volkswagon are saying it's not covered on the warranty. I have gone through the light system properly and when the 2nd flashing light has come on I have taken it in.

  Hello All, I thought buying some oil for the Golf (GT TDi 140) was going to be straight forward until I learned that it depends on whether the car is fitted with a DPF or not? D.P.F = Diesel Particulate Filter. I've scanned the user manuals intensely and cannot find any information to state that my car actually has one of these fitted. Is there some simple way of finding out?

  Hi , I bought a skoda octavia paid £1500 has 170k miles but full service history  Been running fine 6 months but then we shorter trips in winter dpf blocked up It would not regenerate we long run so I decided to have dpf gutted out and mapped out Which I paid £250 for . All warning lights have gone off but cars seriously lacking power now I even have to put it in first gear to go up some hills it's terrible feels like it's in limp mode.
