  • The Renault Rear End 8 May 2004 (Forum)
Heard on R4 that a hippo at a safari park (UK but can't recall which) attempted to mate with a Renault Megane. Often wondered who or what that distinctive rear end would appeal to.......

  • Renault Kadjar - Renault dealer problem 19 Nov 2023 (Forum)
Wife's 67 plate Kadjar 22000 miles, when in warranty stop/start engine hazard light on, into Renault and told just needed reset so all fine, year later out of warranty same light comes on due to faulty battery. Renault dealer can't change battery for a month so get it done independently. Put it into Renault to get any other possible faults diagnosed.
  • Hyundai ix35 v Renault Scenic 11 Jul 2011 (Forum)
I am looking to buy a new car for September and have narrowed it down to these 2.  The Hyundai is 1.7Diesel 2WD and the Renault is the new 1.6 Diesel engine.  I have owned Renaults for the last 5 cars but have never had a Hyundai.  If anyone has anything to say about either of these 2 I would be grateful as I need to make a decision!!
  • Renault Modus front brake disk size? 24 May 2007 (Forum)
Does anyone know what the size of the brake disks on the front of a Renault Modus are? Ours is a 1.5DCi model if that makes a difference. I know they are vented. Are they the same size as any other Renault models (i.e. Clio, Megane etc)? GSF don't list the Modus yet and I need some new ones pretty soon.
  • Renault free breakdown assistance 31 Oct 2005 (Forum)
http://www.renaultuk.co.uk/breakdowncurrentoffers.aspx Whilst in getting my Scenic serviced, I saw a leaflet re the above. Basically, if you own a Renault aged 3-7 years and you get it MOT'd at the dealer, then you get free AA Breakdown assistance. Looked a good deal to me. [Cue all the smart - alecs saying that if you have a Renault then you will need it...]
  • Renault V6 cam belt change 21 Aug 2005 (Forum)
Hi Folks, I knew that Renault V6s needed a cam belt change at 72000 miles but didn't realise that it was 72000 miles or 5 years whichever was soonest. The cambelt change at a Renault Main Dealer is very expensive! I know the risks of not doing it but, in reality, for a low mileage car what are the chances of there being a problem at 5 years?
  • Renault Laguna 2002 Import 17 Nov 2003 (Forum)
Does anyone know how much warranty you have with a 2002 model Renault Laguna? It was not from an official Renault franchise but bought from Ian Shipton Cars in Burton-on-Trent. There is no warranty claim issue as such, it just came up in a conversation as to whether the car has just 12 months cover or 24 months cover.

  • Renault Reliability (What Car) 30 Apr 2003 (Forum)
Renault is turning to its sister company Nissan to help improve the reliability and durability of its cars. The French firm’s chairman and chief executive, Louis Schweitzer, told What Car? that while Renault compared favourably to other brands, reliability was still not good enough. ‘There is still room for improvement,’ he said.
  • Renault Megane Dynamique 2007 mk2 - Renault Megane 1.6 2007 starter problem 9 Mar 2015 (Forum)
Sometimes when the engine whirrs, a message saying braking fault would appear on the dashboard; and the ABS light will light up also. Is this a common issue with Renault Megane? What could be the causes/how can it be fixed? Many Thanks
  • 2008 Renault Trafic 2.0 dci 115 - Renault Trafic - Chain or Belt and changing 9 Sep 2014 (Forum)
Hi there, I've been receiving conflicting advice on my Renault Trafic, and wondered if someone among you could help before I brave Renault customer service. When the van was bought, the salesman told us that the Trafic was chain driven, and consequently would never need a timing belt change.
  • Renault Modus - Renault Modus - any good? 29 Nov 2010 (Forum)
Hi I need of a small run around which has a fairly 'high-up' driving position. A friend has offered me their Renault Modus 57 plate 25k 1.2 Turbo Dynamique for £4,250 (they got offered £4,400 as a trade in) Its a nice drive and i like the air con and part leather. However, being a renault puts me of it (reliability) And the 1 hour and 14 screws to remove to change a light bulb (the bonnet is tiny and difficult to access any thing) The clutch is fairly high and it is now due its 3 year service.
  • ABS Fault - Renault Scenic 1.8 Ltr 12 Jun 2006 (Forum)
Has anybody else suffered a fault in the Antilock Braking System on their Renault Scenic? And if so, were you able to obtain redress from Renault ? - 45,000 miles - 52 Reg. but just out of warranty - Paid £1,009 to have ABS Control Unit replaced. Started car on my drive and the brake warning lights stayed on.
  • Renault 1 Andy 0 24 Jan 2006 (Forum)
Having become a owner 0f a 2002 laguna 1.9dc1 estate three months ago I thought all these stories about faults with Renault were exaggerated .I can confirm they are not ,some faults with the ECU warning lights Renault could not cure. I have owned many cars and you expect some problems but but Renault come top of the league never again will I utter the the name .I have bought a Primera 2004 2.2 sve diesel direct from the lease company and luckily offloaded the Laguna into the trade my contact there says I was lucky it was a diesel because he cannot find dealers who will take petrols at any price. It may have been a bad motor or I was just unlucky but judging by other posts in this forum and others I think not .Renault Laguna R.I.P.
