Diesel Prices 18 Aug 2005 (Forum)
Hi there folks Looking for some help if you can. Does anyone have details of a website that lists fuel (diesel) average costs over the last 2-4 years. Really need to be able to show my company that fuel has gone up considerably and the mileage allowance they are paying is next to useless. Thanks DW -

Citroen C5 V6 - changing ignition coils 9 Nov 2004 (Forum)
wondering whether anyone can tell me whether it is necessary or useful to disconnect any of the fuel lines or fuel injectors when changing the ignition coils on a C5 V6 engine? I believe the V6 has separate coils for each cylinder. Thanks -
Civic 1.8 VTEC - Poor fuel economy after little use for 12mths 1 Mar 2021 (Forum)
I filled up to 3/4 of a tank and have done around 120 miles but now I'm showing as less than 1/4 left. Which seems like I have used a large amount of fuel? Could be wrong but I was surprised. According to the trip I'm doing 52mpg... Car has only done 280 miles since the last service in march 20. Has anyone else experienced this ? I don't know if it's one of those things where because it has not been used the plugs need changing or water in the tank/piped meaning poor fuel economy? -
Suzuki SX4 S-Cross - Suzuki -SX4 -S Cross -1.6 - motorway fuel economy? 22 Feb 2019 (Forum)
Any owners of the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross 1.6 petrol on this forum? This car has great fuel economy specs, both on official specs, as well as on this site's real economy section. Despite being a crossover and having a 5 speed manual gearbox, The fuel economy figures trumps those of hatchbacks like the Auris and the Civic. -

Ford Focus Zetec S 1.8 tcdi - repair problems 6 Feb 2014 (Forum)
I have had it repaired (all new valves and pistons) and a new clutch and flywheel. It came back from a local independent garage only to find it had a fuel leak, it went back and I was told the fuel pump had gone (not his fault !)and it has now been reconditioned only to find it still had a fuel leak. (after 3 trips back it had two leaks (one from an injector and one from another pipe) I have expressed my concerns that there was nothing wrong with the fuel pump in the first place)?? -
Renault Espace 2.2 dci 2001 - Espace 2.2 dci lack of power uphil 24 Dec 2012 (Forum)
Going downhill, no problem. Car is otherwise great and gradually returns to full power. I have had all fuel pumps, and various sensors replaced over the last 5 years and EGR about 4k mls ago. I did clean EGR myself very recently and changed fuel filter plus have tried 'expensive' diesel and fuel additive. -
Peugeot 306 2.0 HDI Estate Meridian - A Fuel related problem? 9 Oct 2012 (Forum)
I apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge.. and the way i explain the problem! I have a (pug 306 hdi 2.0 Meridian estate Y reg) With a faulty fuel gauge reading( Always reads higher than half a tank even when there is less) I HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP(Curtsey of a garage). Lately the car will not start at times, For me to get it to start when it doesn't start it will take 3 diesel containers(£24 to start).. which is weird on one occasion I believed there to be half a tank in there, so I traveled 80 miles and then thought i would put another £20 worth of diesel in it alas Diesel peed out over the edge I had a full tank!! -

Rover 400 (1995 - 1999) - 96 1.4 ECU fault question 8 Jul 2009 (Forum)
I am a little worried though as sometimes i need to power the windows down or open sunroof so when i put ignition on with engine off the fuel pump is running . I know this vehicle uses a constant return fuel system ( sends fuel up to rail then back to tank ) so i feel i should be safe to run pump with engine off but would like some opions from others on here especially member screwloose who seems clued up on these cars . -
Peugeot 406 (1999 - 2004) - 2002 2.0 90 bhp hdi engine will not start 3 Nov 2008 (Forum)
The engine went in limp mode when low on fuel?.(did not run out just light on) refueled and drove home with the engine light on max rev 2500. day after would not start. There is a bulb to press for the fuel a couple of squeazes, she starts then immediately stops and strangely the head lights come. -
Vauxhall Vectra B (1995 - 1999) - 1999 X20XEV Should the fuel pump relay be warm to 23 Apr 2008 (Forum)
What did worry me is that the two relays which control the fuel pump and injector return were every warm to the touch, even after a 10 minute journey. Is this normal? In theory they should be dissipating very little power, just the current through the actuating coils, so i don't see why they should be warm. -
Vauxhall Zafira A (1999 - 2005) - 2001 2.0d trouble cold starting and code P1220 14 Apr 2008 (Forum)
It has been into my garage today to have some new spill off pipes fitted but still having problems. They put a vacuum test on it which showed a drop in pressure so they said I need a new fuel pump? It is showing code P1220 on test. It has already had a one way valve fitted in the fuel pipe so obviously the problem was known to the previous owner. Are there any other suggestions I could try before changing the fuel pump (a cost I cant really afford)? -
Astra 1.7DTL surging problem 3 Jun 2007 (Forum)
It doesn't do it at higher speeds ie. above 40 mph. Sometimes it does it quite badly, other times not so. If it was a petrol engine I'd say it was fuel starvation. It is NOT a misfire. Apart from this problem it runs well and is a really good car. I have changed the engine mountings, injectors, injector pipes, fuel pipe between the filter and pump, all of the sealing washers, throttle damper, fuel stop solenoid, cleaned and checked the EGR valve, as well as regularly replace service items such as fuel and air filters. -
Bimbos and electric motor bikes 5 Apr 2005 (Forum)
When the cell is discharged you can make tea with the effluent. The fuel cell will be charged from a hydrogen creator the size of a shoebox which is fed with bio-ethanol fuels derived from soya or sugar cane. I can imagine London being full of them when diesel and petrol are £1 a gallon and the congestion charge ten times that. -
Scrap it or repair it? 23 Sep 2004 (Forum)
"That's not too bad" I hear you say - however, apart from that, the brake master cylinder is leaking, the rear brakes need replacing, there is a fuel leak (on the fuel line near fuel filter), the fuel tank holding straps are corroded and they'll need to be replaced if the leak is to be fixed as the tank will need to be removed, there is quite alot of corrosion in general to the underside, the rear shocks are knackered etc. - you're starting to get the picture! -
Petrol smell... 6 Jan 2003 (Forum)
FYI The EVAP system o the Galaxy consists of charcoal canister under front O/S wing with vapour connection to fuel tank and purge valve. Normally an evaporative emission control system uses a sealed tank cap and vents the tank via the charcoal canister, however the fuel cap looks too 'fancy' to be a simple closed seal type.
