Honda CRV Mark4 - SRS UNIT 5 Jun 2022 (Forum)
Hi posting on behalf of a friend who like me has a MK 4 petrol automatic SE - hers a 62 reg and mine a 63 reg. She shortly intends to sell the car but has an airbag unit warning light coming on. Her mechanic has advised her that she needs a replacement SRS Unit - SWK44564, model number 77960-T1G-E920-M4. -
ICE ban after 2020 - what ICE car to buy now 17 Nov 2020 (Forum)
I don't like EVs, hybrids & not even that keen on automatics What newish ICE car should I buy now? I was thinking that to avoid sinking like a stone in value it would have to appeal to petrol/diesel heads and/or be an aspiring future classic. Sadly can't be a sportscar with a hard ride or have silly low profile tyres. -
Speed awarenes course and covid? 13 Jun 2020 (Forum)
Just passed a police officer standing in a crowd of people with what appeared to be a speed gun (no handle just a rectangular shape). I was probably doing about 34mph in a 30 limit. I was wondering if I would automatically get a fine and points as opposed to a speed awareness course due to covid restrictions? Not necessarily relevant to the question but he had a pointed hat and no vehicle or signs and was in a group so I wonder if he could have been "having a go with a local group to show them how to use a camera" If offered a course I would naturally choose that -
Do dual-clutch autos wear tyres more? 7 Jan 2019 (Forum)
Presumably the much vaunted millisecond gear change results in a brief surge of kinetic energy from the engine suddenly spinning more slowly, causing a bit of wheelspin. I don't know whether the MG uses a DSG-type box or not, but it was obviously an automatic. -
Golf MK6 - Headlights moving up and down continually 25 Oct 2018 (Forum)
The behaviour is evident when the car is stopped and the ignition is on (I can hear the two servo motors). I'm pretty there's no automatic levelling system with halogen headlights. The problem was not an MOT failure but it was noted. Has anyone encountered this before? Any suggestions to stop this behaviour? Thanks Joe -
Cleaning a motorcycle engine.... 11 Apr 2018 (Forum)
I frequently use a rag, but this takes a long time to do. 3. And finally, when brake pads are changed, does the brake fluid have to be automatically drained and changed? Many thanks in advance for any thoughts regarding the above. -
Range Rover - Toddler killed by runaway car 10 Aug 2017 (Forum)
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4778190/Car-experts-investigate-Range-Rover-toddler-dies.html Strange case, it is reported that 'It appears that an unattended Range Rover has rolled off the driveway in Beechwood Drive. The vehicle was left insecure, with the automatic transmission in park with the handbrake fully applied. It gained momentum down the drive where it went across the road and mounted the footpath opposite and hit the wall' Is this in any way possible? -
Ford Focus Zetec 1.6 Auto 2003 - Back box pipe rusted through 18 Jul 2017 (Forum)
The pipe on the Back Box on my Automatic Ford Focus has rusted through, there are many sellers on a popular auction site but some mention it is for a manual gearbox, it looks the same as mine which is an auto box. Anyone know if the rear box is different for the auto? -

Merc E200cdi Auto 2014 - Engine Shudder at idle 23 Jan 2017 (Forum)
It also feels like the engine is kicking on an engine mount as you can feel the little jolt whilst sitting in the car. Seems fine when warm and car drives perfectly. I should also say this is an Automatic and this shudder happens when sitting at traffic lights in Drive (D). Appreciate any thoughts or things to check. Thanks Matt -
Subaru Forester - Subaru Used Car Values 14 Dec 2016 (Forum)
Hi I am looking to buy a used (three year old approx) Subaru Forester XE Petrol Automatic in the next two months for my wife and I am already looking around. I have found one in the Subaru Helensburgh (I live in Scotland) dealership advertised at £17,995. Any - Favourite car gadget? 21 Dec 2014 (Forum)
With high level headlights on tailgating SUVs I am surprised this simple bit of kit is not included as standard. What's yours? And what would you invent? I would invent automatic dimming of said lights when the onboard computer senses the car in front is less than 20feet away and the speed is less than 20mph. -
Honda jazz, 2004 - Jazz slips when driving at 1.5 and 2.5 rpm 10 Oct 2013 (Forum)
I have a 2004 Honda Jazz, It is an automatic and has 94000 miles. I have recently had problems with a little jump or slip occasionally. It only happens when the car is warmed up and when it is driving around 2 to 2.5 rpms, and usually around 20, 30 and 40 mph, never above 50mph. -
Hovercraft needed 2 Sep 2013 (Forum)
Hi, Can anyone suggest anything sensible thats got a "proper" automatic gearbox has a reasonably high seating position, not too big, cheap, and can deal with potholes, raised junctions, sleeping police men, speed cushions etc. as I am really not enjoying driving anymore, my current little "tide us over" Hyundai Getz ( my Touran recently died die to a blown turbo followed by gearbox failure) is like me getting shaken to bits, and doesn't know which is the best gear to be in, i'm thinking of driving in a bubble wrap suit. -
DRLs 18 May 2013 (Forum)
So for safety, if these lights are compulsory on new cars, then to prevent such forgetfulness or stupidity, any cars with DRLs MUST have automatic headlights fitted as standard. To stop drivers relying on the DRLs only. And fit DRLs on the rear as well.
