  So, oil light stays on a bit - made sure new OEM filter installed, checked the o-rings on the stalk which the filter mounts, all OK. Run from cold, light on for three or four seconds bit of rattling then runs fine. The same happens if stood for more than 5 minutes...pulled the filter to check, the container has drained back already.

  Is the 110 bhp model a step increase in drivability over the 90 bhp or is there not much in it?  The car will be used as a general family second car doing shortish runs (8 to 20 miles) with the odd longer run (200 miles). If the 90 bhp model is very nearly as good as the 110 it makes the search easier! Thanks

  Hello, I wonder if anyone can offer me some advice? My Audi's battery is running flat after 3 or 4 days of not being used. I've checked the voltage (12.88 v) and removed the neg and am getting a zero reading when testing amps. When the engine is running I'm getting over 14 v The battery is only 16 months old and this problem was there when I bought it but I used it a lot more then so it wasn't really an issue although I keep it trickle charged during the week in case I get stranded.

  After cutting out I switch the ignition off and can start up straight away, no problems and can either run 5 weeks with no problems or 2 days! Any help greatly appreciated, thanks.

  Returned from a short 6 mile run parked up all ok no problems whatsoever , started  car 2 hours later engine perfect but unable to select any gears. Tried starting in gear and clutch drag is evident as car moves if handbrake not applied.

  Then the day after that hopped in again... nothing. So I then bumped it again, same thing happened started fine then carried on running for the rest of the day no problem. My question is what the hell is wrong with it haha. Any help would be great, I have a feeling its the alternator but rather get some more opinions before i run out and buy one.

   Since then I have had problems starting the car.  I have used jump leads to some effect but after a short run and standing for 24 hours the car does not start.  The battery has been checked and it is apparently OK but it is draining power somewhere and I don't know where the problem lies.  Now even after a longer run it is very difficult to start even using jump leads.

  I don't use it often, but have nearly run out of oil. I recently changed the filter and cleaned the burner, but need more oil. So, can I use diesel instead of No.1 heating oil? That way I can just buy a little as and when.

  I have recently purchased this car which had an existing problem with a non-working drivers window, I cleaned (lighty sponged) the inside of the car yesterday, went out again to run and heat/dry the car and although the central locking works I cannot turn the ignition key (at all) and it appears as though the immobilser is running (a red light is still flashing on the radio facia which I assume indicates this?)

  The engine cranks ok but take several minutes before it will fire and start. When it does start it seems to run on 2 cylinders until it warms up when it runs ok. The garage have replaced the glow plugs and glow plug relay and now suspect injectors (very expensive) or perhaps a blown head gasket which puzzles me as there's no sludge around the dip stick or oil filler cap.

  My offspring have absulutely no interest in their cars and I usually end up inflating their tyres when they visit, but I've noticed they still seem to wear evenly despite being down to around 60% of recommended pressure. I've played around with my own tyre pressures a bit (195/60 x 16) and even running at 10PSI above recommended I've not noticed any difference in economy. I'm reluctant to run them below the recommended pressure, but wonder if anyone's measured the difference in grip and economy at different pressures for modern lower profiles?

  Car running strangely. Engine being hesitant, also seeming to rev when engine running at standstill. Has been into garage twice already, first time yelow warning light reset. Still problem so Pre Cat 02 sensor replaced but still same problem and light came back on again, any ideas what it could be please.

  The knuckle joint from the module to the hose seemes loose. The switch inside the car on the dash has a few led's. When the petrol pump symbol is on red, it runs on petrol, but when the button is pushed, it changes to 4 green led's followed by 1 amber and 1 red one, this may mean empty? I put £15 of LPG in yesterday but this may have leaked out by now. When it switches over it runs for a few seconds then cuts out.

  have the glow plug light flashing on dashboard i have had the plugs checked and they were dead so got them replaced but still had the problem of lack of power,poor starting from cold have also checked the injectors (run off test)and they are ok today i cleaned the egr valve and hey presto got the power back the only problem i have with the car now is the flashing glow plug light does anyone know how this can be turned off without having to take it to fords as my local ford garage is run by a bunch of monkeys

  I have a Golf CL petrol single injection. It is sometimes very difficult to start and on other occasions starts straight away and runs very smooth and responds to throttle control. If I take it for a run it is perfect for a few miles and then just cut out and just will not restart, it can be left for a few hours and then still refuses to start, I then have tow it back home and if I try to start it 9 times out of ten it starts immediately, I have changed the spark plugs and leads, can anybody help me.
