  I have a 2006 focus 1.8tdci that has a misfire between 1100 and 1900 rpm. I have had the injectors professionally bench tested and they are all ok. The car runs perfect above 1900rpm. It doesn't smoke at all. The mechanic that looked at it said that as it runs perfectly at higher revs it can't be a compression fault and he says it must be injector failure but they tested perfectly.

    I know that the maps are out of date as I understand that updates (via disc) for older CRVs are running on Version 3.9.  By comparison my old handheld Garmin system is fully up to date and has no problem in updating via download and is running Version 4.0.  Does anyone have any idea how I can get a more recent version downloaded into my car as Garmin Express continually says my car is up to date.

    The few seconds its runs its fine no smoke or missing. It ticks over lovely then just stops  it doesn't fade out it just stops ( like pulling a plug) Any ideas for what to try next? Many tthanks Odd ball

  Just bought a lovely Gets which runs great. Just one issue, when starting from cold it makes a cruch sound which lasts for about a second. It sounds like cars used to years ago if you turned the key too far. Only happens on a cold start.

  When my tank reaches approx a third full, with 130 miles range showing on the computer, it has started to kick back or worse cut out, particularly in 5th gear, cruising at 70mph, has happened 4 times and been a real pain to re start on 2 occasions leaving me stuck on a dual carriageway. I'm currently re filling when half full, but not ideal for longer runs. Any ideas or advice greatly appreciated. It runs like dream when there is plenty in the tank.

  I bought a car from a local dealer in March which was advertised on their site and others (including this one) as having 12 months MOT to run. This was also confirmed verbally by the dealer. On getting a copy of the certificate, it transpires that it runs out in a couple of days and also has some advisory items on it. I have a copy of the advert where the 12 months MOT is mentioned.

  only going to do 10 - 12k miles per year so think a petrol would suit best?? need it to average 40mpg to keep running costs similar to the Modus. it needs to do general school runs and the odd camping trip and not be too big for the wife to drive. has anyone got any suggestions???? quite like the Toyota Avensis Saloon which just abouts averages 40mpg?

  I have a problem when starting from cold with lots of blue smoke. It also runs roughly for a few minutes or until the blue smoke has gone. It then runs fine with little or no smoke. Starting from warm doesn't produce the smoke. I recently had a problem with black smoke and some blue smoke but added a fuel additive which solved the problem.

  hi all. here's a tricky one. my 2006 citroen xsara picasso has a start problem. it will start and run perfectly time after time then as soon as i plug the sat nav or phone charger or anything else into the cigarette lighter i have problems. the car will continue to run but as soon as i stop the car it wont start again. all i get when i turn the key is a click, the engine wont turn over at all just a click then i have to bump start the car to get it going, once i bump it it will start every time again. can anyone help??

  my peugeot 206hdi 55 plate will not start when cold i have fully serviced it (no sign of metal fragments in fuel filter) changed the glow plugs/relay fitted a new battery and it still refuses to start i replaced the starter aswell, this morning i sprayed a small amount of easy start into it and it fired staright away could this be a fuel pressure problem? the car runs fine once running and starts every turn of the key till next morning then same old problem, their are no fault codes stored and no engine managment light and it drives fine and doesnt go into limp mode. can anyone help as its drivin me nuts now.

  Changed fuel pump and engine ticked over fine but any pressure on the accelerator it just cuts out. Now I'm lost. Checked the injector breather valve and let it run for about 20 mins. Idleing fine but the same problem. Any push on the gas pedal it just cuts out. Update. Disconnected battery and left for 10 mins. Started engine back up and now it seem if its not running on all cylinders.
