• MINI Cooper S R53 (2002 - 2007) - Replacing my VR6 with Mini Cooper S 6 Mar 2009 (Forum)
  I am looking for a new car to replace my ageing Golf VR6. I want somthing fun, with a boot, and well built. So I thought about a Mini Cooper S. I?ve seen one for sale 2005 (05) with 75k on the clock for £7299 + £91 admin at CarGiant. Does the price sound about right, and what do people think of the car? My main concern is the depreciation of it over the next few years, and that I may look like a hairdresser in it.

  The bidding still went to 8850 provisional but it left me thinking why anyone would not service their mini when it only costs another 100 quid for the 5 yr free servicing option?! Perhaps it was fully serviced and just missing the stamps but even still it just goes to show how strong the prices are for Mini's...

  There is an entry in todays "recently answered questions" concerning a failed MOT on a 5year old Mini 29000miles needing a total rear brake replacement according to the dealership.  My question is would the calipers really warp as they are substantial metal parts?

  I visited the garage whilst the Mini was in pieces and noticed that the wheels and I think, the front axles were off. It was all done and as soon as I followed my daughter back home noticed that the car was crabbing down the road. It sure didn't do that before.
