  I sold vehicle A which was my car,to a youngster today who has put it on his parent`s insurance policy.I had been driving vehicle B which belongs to a mate who`s  abroad but has kept his insurance current as he`d have had to pay a cancellation fee.I have been driving it on vehicle A`s insurance policy.I have vehicle C sat on the driveway devoid of T&T.

  Hi All, This is with Direct Line. Got a 1.1 LX W Plate Saxo as a 2nd car for the wife to learn to drive in. I will be the main driver for short runs to work etc. Other car is a SAAB. I am paying an additional £17 pcm for fully comp on the Saxo. 3rd party was only a few quid cheaper! Adding the wife as a named driver on the Saxo is increasing the premium from £17 to £50 pcm.

  Where roundabouts are only marked by white central markings cars often cut across the markings. I sometimes will on empty roads but some drivers will drive straight over the centre in heavy traffic. However the HC says you MUST pass round the central markings. "188.Mini-roundabouts. Approach these in the same way as normal roundabouts. All vehicles MUST pass round the central markings except large vehicles which are physically incapable of doing so.
• Renault Scenic (1999 - 2003) - 2000 dci Glowplug light comes on when driving 3 Jan 2010 (Forum)
  Have recently bought this car, no problems up till now. When driving home on motorway the glowplug light came on a few times briefly, today it comes on all the time. According to the manual it indicates an electrical fault? Anyone any ideas please? Can i keep using it safely?

  However, given our village location and me working away, she has decided that it's time she drove again. My thinking was to get her enrolled at a local driving school again who perhaps specialise in this, I was thinking of doing this as an IOU Christmas present. Anyone got any ideas on how to proceed or perhaps a different way of approaching this? Thanks

  Lots and lots of websites out there all promising that with sufficient effort it's possible to earn £600/week driving HGVs (I imagine that's 50 hours+), is it actually possible to achieve this soon after passing the test? All these companies are trading under different names but are using the same website design and blurb, and none of them publish their prices on the internet, which seems pretty suspicious to me.

  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7834611.stm It's a shame that these stories never give the information one would really like to have - in this case, was the ticketee actually judged to be driving without due care and attention, or not being in control of her car - in other words, was there any evidence at all other than the eating? This is why I was against, in a recent thread, the routine ticketing of drivers for this sort of thing.

  I nearly crashed my car when I heard those words on the radio as part of a job ad tonight for driving instructors, together with the stipulation that a UK or EC licence is required. I've just checked the ad on line and it's true. So you can learn to drive on the right and (apart from our Irish chums) not have English as your mother tongue, then get more than 6 points on your licence and you still might be OK to train others how to drive?

  We are often advised here to be careful about buying ex-rental/company cars as they are often abused. Now how exactly people abuse them? I was examining my own driving habits whenever I got a rental car and found that I am guilty of following :) 1. Never waited engine to warm up before doing 70 mph on motorway [sometimes engine already warms up before joining motorway though]. 2.

  My idiot fiancé has been caught driving whilst disqualified under the influence bailed pending charges, he was also charged with resisting arrest, then last week he got caught on the Motorway speeding and was given a producer (they didnt PNC him) obviously he has not complied with the producer- can anyone advise me what view the court will take on this, he also recently got arrested for criminal damage falling through a window, can anyone advise as I am worried sick!!

  hi i am looking for some advice i drive a pug 307 2.0 hdi on a 53 plate anyways when i was driving the other day i had an "anti pollution fault" warning come up followed by "unblock diesel filter" i have looked through the other posts on here but cannot make sense of it(sorry) i took it for a long drive today going about 60-70 for about 30 mins but it is still on anyone help me with this problem?

  Having just returned from Canada, it was such a joy to drive over there doing some 1500 miles. No Big Brother Cameras, Passing either side, Giving way to each other to merge, Just indicate to change lanes (No problem), Who cares about speed limits and Pedestrians having the right of way crossing a road on a green.
• Citroen Saxo (1997 - 2003) - Loud banging when driving 17 Aug 2007 (Forum)
  Didn't have a clue what it was of where it was coming from so got out and looked under the car and couldn't see anything out of place... got back in and carried on driving but was still happening so turned around and limped home in it... As I said, the banging is rhythmic - the faster I go, the more (quickly) it bangs but still at regular intervals... Anyone got any ideas what the problem could be?
• Changing an ignition coil on a MkV Golf 30 May 2007 (Forum)
  Is it easy? My *third* ignition coil seems to have died on me whilst driving to work this morning. This leaves me 80 odd miles away from home with a car that doesn't feel like driving. I am pretty certain it's the ignition coil again. Unsurprisingly none of the VW Garages could fit me in today (though one helpfully told me I shouldn't be driving the car), so I am now thinking I might need to pick the part up and fit it myself.

  Hi Guy's and Girls I wonder if I could ask some advice please. I have bought some Maxtel Driving Lights which did not come with any wiring kit which is not a problem in itself as I can do this myself. However, the question is this: I am a little confused as there is only one wire coming form the back of the plastic lamp housing which is terminated with a small tubular crimp connector.

  So, the question is, what exactly is a "motoring emergency". Does this policy provide cover for me to drive my grandma around in her own car? I'm actually insured on the policy as a named driver, but it may be cheaper to remove me if I'm only going to drive the car with my grandma in it. There's nothing specific named in the policy booklet, it simply says that the insurance policy rights transfer to me when I'm behind the wheel, and that the driver must have a full driving license.

  at cold it revs up fine on choke , after 10 seconds it will missfire to the point that im needed the accelerator to keep it running, after approx 40 seconds i can let it idle its self and the misfire goes. now if i drive it straight to work, after 5-10mins of steady driving it starts to miss again and the only way to clear it is pull up and idle. the problem does not occur if i fully let the car warm up idling and then drive it.

  It's a complete a pain in the ass, with queues to leave the motorway and queues to rejoin it. The diversion probably makes you drive at least 8 miles needlessly. Better just heading through Perth to the A9. It's exactly what they don't want you to do and it's quicker and cheaper.
• Driving Down Through France 11 Oct 2005 (Forum)
  Next Summer we are planning to drive down to the Perpignon area from the channel ports. We know to avoid the first week in August as all of France is on the road then. If was looking for advice on the following points :- 1) I estimate it is about 750-800 miles, is this feasible to do in 2 days, given that I have to think of my wife and 9 year old ?
