I'd rather a 2.0lt for power on the motorways and overtaking (I'm not a crazy speeder just cannot stand being stuck behind pootling drivers when I have a 300-mile trip ahead of me.) Previous cars have been 1.6. My Audi is 2.0 and I wouldn't want to downgrade after having a 2.0. The Audi is a bit too small so wanting something a bit bigger but nothing too big. Usually just myself and one other person + dog in the car. -

Audi A6 - AA warranty 13 Nov 2013 (Forum)
Are AA mechanical warranties worth having, I think no it is just a glorified money pit. I have an Audi A6 bought from new and it is an 05. After te warranty ran out I took out one with the AA and paid £467 yearly. This yer was the first time I made a claim, my air con rad went so I got it replaced. I paid the £50 excess and thought I had done well as a new rad was in the region of £350 plus the labour etc. -
Audi A3 2.0 TDI 2006 - Does not start when fuel less than half a tank 27 Oct 2013 (Forum)
It can be started with easy start or when the fuel level is raised again to above half a tank. I took it to the Audi dealer and they first diagnosed fuel contamination (oil leaking in fuel perhaps?). Tank was emptied, new fuel filter and fuel lines cleared. Got the car back and same thing happened. Again I took it to the dealer and they then replaced the in tank fuel pump. -

Car doesn't have to be brand new - quite happy to look at used I'm currently looking at the C class Merc and Audi A4/A5/A6 as potential hacks. Is the Merc any good? I hear so many stories about them not being as good as a few years back, but are they improving? Never had an Audi - seem well built etc Your thoughs please.
