My sunroof (a standard feature on the car, doesn't have aircon) is tilt and slide.
It spontaneosly opens in the 'tilt' position.
Last year it did this say once a week, now it's more like twice a day.
I can get it shut again by doing 'slide' then back to shut.
Has anyone had this problem? What should I check first? Faulty switch? Fuse?
Thanks

Anyone had a sunroof open of its own accord, on any car?
Could it be the switch?
Thanks for any advice

Hello Stewart,
I am no electronics or Audi export. I do not think it is the fuse. But back to basics is my advise.
Does the switch feel o.k. Does it click on and off o.k?
I think the only reason the fuse would cause this sort of problem would be a bad connection.
Check and clean your earths. If possible replace the switch with a known good unit.
You may also find the answer from previous archives.
check this URL. www.audiworld.com/tech/elec.html look for sunroof switch repair.
Hope this helps.

Hello stewart,
Had similar problem with my A4. tilt/slide sunroof switch was faultly. Replaced with second hand unit (resistance potentiometer) was fine for a number of years.
