Isuzu D-Max - "Check System" message, keyfob failure 5 Dec 2023 (Forum)
Three other faults also occurred the same day: 1) no reversing light when reverse gear selected. 2) no central display switching to rear camera when reverse selected (can switch to camera manually). 3) no GSI (gear shift indicator) number showing at all in any gear. Dealer says 1) & 2) are related to loose parking sensor shorting and blowing common fuse, and that 3) is due to faulty clutch switch and unrelated to 1) & 2). -

Road Pricing IS a step to Big Brother 18 Jul 2007 (Forum)
(change .. open and trustworthy government... cow excrement) "A Home Office document accidentally released suggests police should be given instant access to cameras which monitor congestion and road charging. " "But internal documents mistakenly circulated around Westminster by the Home Office contain details of a more wide-ranging plan to track journeys throughout England and Wales. -
Head-on collision: Video clip (2) 14 Dec 2006 (Forum)
In my case, the other driver was on the wrong side of the road and had no insurance. The police weren't interested; and it was in the days before I had a flash camera phone (which I could have used to photograph the other car on the wrong side of the road after the accident). Has anyone got any thoughts on the feasibility of installing grille-mounted (or dashboard-mounted) video cameras? -
tailgating HGVs 8 Sep 2004 (Forum)
I decided that I had had enough of this idiot so overtook the car in front and continued at 50mph only to see the HGV tailgating the car that I had just overtaken. There is only 1 question I have, where were the police? Surely there are enough cameras to see this going on. Unfortunately it was too dark to see the reg number. Rant over -
Faster down south. 2 Jul 2004 (Forum)
M6 Toll (dont count I was the only one on it) M42, roadworks - 50 mph limit, everyone toodling along at 50, BMW lane at 60 slowing sedately for the cameras... Again all civilised. Slight feelings of deja vu start at High Wycombe on the M40, slight bunching, aggression, middle lane now up to 80, BM lane now 90. And then the m25. The three ring circus much beloved of maximus Suicidal speeds, inches of bumper space, everyone rushing along nose to tail at 70mph in the 40 mph limit slamming on anchors millimetres before the cameras........ -
Why do people.... 24 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Act surprised when their main dealer charges more for the service than the purchase of the car? Do i really need to explain this?!! Think Speed Camera's are justfied? They never get put near schools/hospitals/old peoples homes. They are always on clear, straight roads where you can do 60mph but they put a 30mph limit up 3 days before the camera appeared. -
NIP recieved after 2 months 17 Sep 2002 (Forum)
Speaking to the camera unit call centre they say as long as the origional NIP was sent out to the registered keeper within 14 days of the offence then it's valid. Well my V5 says at that date I was the registered keeper, (though to be fair I have only just recieved the backdated V5 in the post). -

The Short Arm of The Law 9 Aug 2001 (Forum)
During the course of conversation she asked him why the two outer lanes to the pumps were often coned off. He told her that the security cameras could not pick up those lanes, so unless it was busy they were shut in order to discourage drive-offs. She jokingly said that now she knew that, she would know which lane to use if she wanted to do a runner without paying.
