  Hello all,  about six weeks ago the oil light came on in my 2010 Mazda 6 2.2 Sport while I was on th M6 near Staford, I diched onto the hard sholder and slowed to a stop. I called the AA and got it recovered to a Mazda dealer in Staford, they had a look and said there was a  knocking noise from the engine, so the proceeded to remove the sump.

  I'm so used to the little Audi being so nippy - It may be unwarranted but I've been worried that the Mazda might not be quite as responsive when I need to get the power down (admittedly I know next to nothing about this kind of thing so I'm happy to be schooled on it by you guys).    If I prime the fuel using the hand primer in the engine bay I can see air bubbles moving in the clear fuel line.  It will then start and run fine. I think my mazda has had some aftermarket fuel lines added including the hand primer which I do not think is standard (I did read online a lot were replaced under warranty).  However, the fuel lines mine has are really really long and run around the engine bay from the fuel filter to where they go into the cylinder (I cannot imagine Mazda fitted them like this under warranty).

  Originally I was interested in the A4 1.9 TDi S-lIne, but quickly got put off after reading owner reviews and JD Power Survey's etc. Also like the Accord, but I'm young so the image put me off slightly. This Mazda has full service history (Although the last two services have been done 2-3,000 miles over schedule)...I wondered whether this could have done any damage in terms of the Mazda DPF/diesel in sump problem seeing as the oil changes have been 14,500 miles between at least once?

  This is my first post and unfortunately under bad circumstances. My girlfriend had a service carried out (50k) two weeks ago from a Mazda dealer on her 55 reg Mazda 3. Whilst driving the car last week the oil light came on and within 1 min of the light coming on, the car virtually siezed - she managed to pull over on the A34 stopping one lane of traffic at rush hour!

  I'm happy that the MOT people are telling the truth and I'm getting them replaced. Fair enough. However, the car had its 36000 Mazda dealer service just 2-3 weeks ago. So two questions arise: 1) Surely the Mazda dealer should have warned me about this and not passed the car for its service? Why am I paying £250 for a service that doesn't do anything?
