I hope you can help me. Whether or not you are aware of my engne run-away which has a big post on this forum i just wanted to know how Mazda/Vosa work out the chassis numbers to be recalled? I've got a 2008 (58 plate) 6 SL 2.0Tdi

Only reason i ask is because on VOSA's website the following chassis numbers have been recalled for:

Reference : R/2008/194
Manufacturer Ref :
Make: MAZDA
Model : Mazda 3, 5 6 and 6 Wagon (fitted with RF Diesel engine)
Launch Date : 09/02/2009
Numbers Involved :15870
Build Start Date : 26/12/2006
Build End Date : 05/11/2008

Concern : ENGINE REVS MAY INCREASE INADVERTENTLY
Description : It is possible that white smoke can occur from the exhaust pipe and engine speed may increase whilst driving.
Remedial Action : Recall affected vehicles and replace Power Control Module.

My problem now is that my chassis number is: JMZGH which you can see is only 1 letter off the above, i had exactly the same problem as what the cars above had - yet mazda are still putting the blame of the engine run-away on me.
