Gold Parking Service Gatwick 15 May 2014 (Forum)
Your car could well end up damaged, used for their own amusement, stolen or incur parking fines. As was reported by other viewers. Their website is still live even after being highlighted on WD tonight. I parked on the airport at Gatwick last summer. The car was in a secure car park, monitored and the car was in the spot I left it. -

Renault Scenic - parking in council car park 22 Sep 2014 (Forum)
I was late for an appointment - dashed into the dentist and asked the junior to put 2 hours parking on my car and gave her £1 coin. She came back with my car keys and had put ticket on. When I had returned to the car (after dentist and shopping) I had a parking ticket - because the amount for 2 hours should have been £1.10p - as the machine did not give change (it said this on the meter) the girl did not realise the ticket was only for l hour not 2 hours as I wasn't given change I didn't realise it either. -

2) If the illegal parking was on 23-Dec-2005, surely I have upto 14 days from 23-Dec-2005 to pay the fine (which that day have been passed), is this correct? Why would they start counting the 14-day grace period from 30-Dec-2005? -
£100 insurance fine for you all 25 Feb 2005 (Forum)
Read the Times in a coffee place this morning. In a small column it stated that if you don't renew your insurance you will get a £100 "fine. Even if it was only a day "late" and it was parked on private property the whole time. It was written as a fact rather than a new government proposal. But I now can't find it in the on-line version. -
2014 Audi A1 1.6 TDI - Rear Brakes Sticking? 22 Mar 2023 (Forum)
I park my car in a garage, with the handbrake off. When it has been parked for a few days, the rear brakes seem to be stuck on and it requires some effort to get the car to move, as if something is sticking on the rear wheels, despite me parking it with the handbrake off. -
Advice with a Parking Fine/ Magistrates Court 30 Jul 2018 (Forum)
I am faced with 2 charges of £182 now or facing the Magistrates court with potential fine of £1000. This feels like extortion, but I dont want to risk having to pay £1000. I've tried contacting solicitors in the towns nearby and none cover parking litigation, so any helpful advice is highly appreciated. -

Fines gone MAD 14 Nov 2003 (Forum)
The penalty for improper use is £1000 - yes, I have put the right number of noughts, one thousand pounds for parking your car in a taxi bay. I guess this represents over a month's take-home pay for many people. Sounds scandalous to me. What other outrageous fines have people come across? -

Parking Ticket Help Please! 12 May 2006 (Forum)
I informed the receptionist at the local authority gym and placed a notice on my dashboard stating the time of parking and that the machine was not working. Surprise, surprise I have an "Excess Charge Notice (Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984)" and a £50 fine. The 'notice' even states that I left a note and the parking attendants asked the receptionist who confirmed what I reported; the attendant states on the notice that the machine was checked and was working ok (about 2 minutes after I parked). -

Rover 400 - Rover 414i 1999 starting issue 1 Feb 2019 (Forum)
Hi all, had an issue with my rover 414i 1999 model. I drove for about an hour no issues, I parked up for 10 mins, drove for another hour no issues, parked up for half hour and then drove 2 mins around the corner, went back to the car 20 mins later and nothing, just a click....tried bumping car and nothing, tried jump leads, nothing, all lights were on and fine, moved car to safe area and decided to see if I could find a solution, went back to car after a few hours and after a click, a second of struggling it started and drove me home fine, checked it this morning and slight struggle(maybe due to cold weather) it started and has had no problems since....only thing I noticed was water tank seemed to have gone low but can see no leaks anywhere, all temps were fine but could something have over heated causing the issue? -
