Engine Cover 23 May 2003 (Forum)
Like most new cars today, the top of the engine in my vectra is covered by a plastic clip on cover - that apart from making it look neat and tidy - as far as I can see serves no other purpose. The reason I am posting this is that a number of pipes and wires run out from under the cover to other parts of the engine bay, and as the edge of the cover is quite sharp, there has been chafing to at least two pipes and one set of wiring. -

n/a - LJK Setright's last book cover. 3 Jul 2023 (Forum)
L J K Setright’s final book entitled ‘Long Lane With Turnings’ had a picture on the front cover of a car at the top of a long lane. Does anyone know the make and model of the car? The photographer was Jorn Tomter (Norwegian) and the cover design house was Peter Marlow/Magnum. Thanks in advance. -

I have come across this company that does extremely good rates on breakdown cover. For £59 you can get cover for both UK and most of Europe. They will even cover older cars (20 years). Cover is provided by Europ Assistance who I would imagine are very good. NB. I have no connection with this company and can't comment on their competence. -
Car Cover POPLA 21 Sep 2017 (Forum)
Being on private land, I believe that the road tax is not applicable. [It is taxed and insured as my daily car] I have read on few websites that the wardens cannot touch the car cover yet on others, they can. Being a private land, does it differ from public roads? I cannot park the classic convertible car on public roads with a cover as it will be vandalised in few days. -

Adjustment v Warranty Cover 28 May 2003 (Forum)
Can anyone clarify what is or is not covered by a car warranty. I have taken my car back to the dealer for two minor repairs in the first two years of ownership:- 1 The first repair was a minor problem where the tailgate lock did not lock first time under the central locking system and could be heard going through several attempts before finally locking. 2 The second was a creak / rattle in the doorframe. -
Used Car Dealer Warranty 11 Apr 2007 (Forum)
I'm looking at purchasing a Primera from a Used Car Dealer who is offering 3 months Warranty with it. The warranty cover is actually quite poor so I'm trying to work out what it costs them to apply this cover so I can negotiate the cost of it off the car. -

European Breakdown Cover 24 Jul 2008 (Forum)
Just been looking at the recent post, 'Breakdown cover, too much choice!' Made me look at Europ Assist as the premium looked good for european cover. My car now 10 yrs old and quoted at £85, against the £135 from Green Flag for annual cover. However just come up with major problem if you DIY service. -
Ford S-MAX 2.5T - European breakdown cover 8 Aug 2013 (Forum)
I am taking the car to France and Belgium for a few days. My breakdown cover (Call Assist - supplied by the dealer) is UK only. Can anyone provide recommendations for getting cover in Europe? My existing cover expires at the end of November, so I would consider starting a new 12 month policy and overlapping. -

Breakdown Cover - Observations? Recommendations? 7 Nov 2007 (Forum)
Folks, We're with AA, Option 200, paying £114.yr. Homestart, Relay, etc. This has always seemed a tad expensive, but Mrs g and and I are covered for both cars. MoreThan offered me a deal bundled with insurance renewal today, circa £35.00 for one car. Are these "cheap deals"? It had automatic overseas cover, however. Can anyone make any recommendations, as I want something to match AA, but not pay their prices... -

I have a 2010 Volvo C70 which has been treated with GardX. I do not garage this car and do not run it during the worst of the winter weather, (i.e snow) as I also have a Suzuki Jimny.
