Smelly Primera diesel 11 Mar 2001 (Forum)
My 98'S Primera Turbo diesel really smells of diesel vapour when idling. We've had the car checked, fuel return pipes replaced and washers on the fuel pump replaced, but it still stinks. Any ideas? -

Peugeot 306 1.9 diesel no fuel coming from fuel injection pump when turning engine over. Is it the pump, the immobiliser or some other fault? Does anyone have any ideas, know how to check or had a similar problem? -

A few days later someone else tried to start it but failed. I went to the car and found no fuel getting to the injectors, then found no power at the fuel pump. I did not have any cable so could not send power to the pump to see if that resolved the issue. I plan to do that next time I go the car. -

Similar starting problems but after driving for about two miles i lost power whilst driving at about 40mph. The RAC diagnostic said there was a problem with the fuel pump P0232 (fuel pump secondary circuit) The first time it broke my mechanic told me that all the wiring was corroded and this was also the case the second time indicating that water was getting in somewhere. -

After some advice on a 307 likely fuel pump failure. Had a total loss of power and now car won't start, AA recovery guy did some tests on voltage, fuse etc to the low pressure pump and that all looks ok but when removing the fuel pipe feed to filter there was no fuel being fed from the tank. -

Car 1999 Mercedes C220 CDI Performance There appeared to be no material difference in performance - if anything the power/acceleration seems to be a little smoother with less evidence of the turbo surge when accelerating. Fuel Consumption Fuel Consumption overall was less good than with normal diesel. The fall-off was around 8% even though a handout from the suppliers of the fuel claimed that fuel consumption would improve by about 7%. -

I don't think an electric car would be any better either, if the fragile lithium battery in a mobile phone can ignite when bent under an airline seat. Maybe diesel is the safest fuel? My brother’s diesel fuel line split, spilling diesel over a hot exhaust. No problem, switch off engine, fix hose, drive away again. Your thoughts?Elsewhere on
