  Budget of £8k-10k, with an extra reliability and extremely safe as well?? I have been thinking about the possibilities Volvo-questions about reliability issues but otherwise perfect.   CAR nut Andy Saunders built a Bentley-based car using parts from 14 DIFFERENT motors. The striking model includes bits from a Volvo, Suzuki, and even an old Austin Maestro & Montego. The boot lid is from a Ford Focus, glass roof from a Merc, headlights from a Range Rover, Mazda MX5 petrol cap, leather seats from a Volvo S60, door mirrors from an Audi TT, spoilers from an MG Maestro.

  Interested in Volvo XC40 20/22 plate Some mention 'mild hybrid' non plug in which generates lecky through braking. Dont want a pure EV - long in tooth and feel uncomfortable from pure ICE as these extras surely add more to problems of servicing etc.

  I wonder which cars are best for long term ownership, I guess it will be the usual suspects like BMW or Volvo, you see loads of older ones of these but rarely see an old Mondeo or Citroen Bx, lots of VW's of old around but few Cavaliers.

  Hello, I have a 1997 C-Class (202 model code), and would like to have ISOFIX brackets installed. I have obtained a retrofit kit for my Volvo V40, but my Mercedes dealer thinks that no parts are available. Has anyone got a 202 with ISOFIX brackets? Can it be done? Best regards, Tim

  hi, i have just got back from my local garage who tells me he has searched high and low for an engine mount for my volvo(440 2.0 si) i cant believe there is none out there, especially seen as this is a common fault for these cars. anyone know of a good parts finder ??? cheers

  I have Volvo 850 TDI Estate. Recently it developed a problem where the headlamps stay on even when the ignition is switched off and key removed. I replaced the headlamp rotary switch but this did not resolve the problem.

  Why then do some cars, Focus, Mondeo and even the rally inspired Subaru Impreza have rear drums? My Volvo 940 has disks all round {plus ABS} and stops even beer than it goes. Disks are simpler in design, easier and cheaper to service - so why drums at all?

  Anyone any experience of towing a substantial (1150Kg) caravan with a Fiat Multipla JTD 105? I tow with a Volvo but aim to sell as its a thirsty T5. I hope to be able to tow with our recently acquired Multipla - which incidentally is really fun to drive and as practical and commanding as a 4x4 (and really interesting to be seen in!)

  JUst purchased some 0w20 from Shell 5L, discovered there are 3 different versions of 0w20: one is for JLR, the other for VW/Audi and also a spec for Volvo.  My Honda Jazz as told by the dealer says we use 0w20...does it really matter which one i use....   Thank you

  Obviously prices can vary but would appreciate some rough idea.  2007 Volvo C30 metallic grey.  Some minor scratches.  Wondering about 'refreshing' bodywork.  In East Yorkshire - any ideas of rough cost to have all car machine polished.  Obviously I will ask for some quotes but would like to have some idea of what would be reasonable.

  I bought a 65 plate (registered in September 2015) Ford Focus 1.0 125 Ecoboost at the beginning of February.  I like the car but have been looking at the Volvo V40 (looks great).  How much of a trade in do you think I would get on my Focus (2000 miles on the clock)

  All diesel of course, &  FWD only in the case of the Yeti, and all based on a square back end to stow a wheelchair upright, going to look at a V50 tonight as I cannot remember how much room there is in the "boot" ( but I love the Volvo seats, with their extra seat squab adjustments) Thoughts please?

  Hi everyone im looking for a car to take part in a charity race from Norfolk to Gibraltar.The budget is 250.So far seen a diesel cavalier on ebay with 110k on but got a feeling it will go for more as its in good condition.Is it the obvious, jap cars ?   There now seems to be a trend for manufacturers to produce cars which are virtually identical appearance-wise - only in various degrees of size. As an example, the Volvo S40/S60/S80 would appear to have been produced by sticking the plans through a photocopier set on 40/60/80% - maybe that's why they're called that! Is maintaining 'corporate identity' stifling creativity within a manufacturer's styling team?

  Hi Has anyone had problems regarding throttle body/positions on there s60's ? I've heard that Volvo no about this issue and are consequently taking back and cleaning them out which apparently sorts the problem out !! also its free of charge???? I've had the airflow meter changed as one of the diagnostic problems but not the throttle body !!

  In terms of grip on pavement services just how much of difference does 4 wheel drive make. I'm refering to cars like Volvo and Audis ect... Does it make a huge differnce as it seems they use more fuel. Has anyone had experince of driving the same model with and without the 4 wheel drive? Is it worth it?
