    Fans of Ford who are looking for car buying advice may be interested to hear the manufacturer has brought out a new version of the Focus. The Zetec S comes with a sports styling kit - including 17-inch alloy wheels, an S badge on the fender, aluminium-style foot pedals and handbrake cover and front and rear spoilers with lower sill extensions.

    A ‘garage find’ Aston Martin is going under the hammer. The 1973 AM V8 could fetch as much as £35,000 when it heads to auction next month. The car, which has 82,752 miles on the clock, is part of Classic Car Auctions’ 23 September sale at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre. The AMV8 was launched after the car maker was sold in 1972.

    Stirling Moss led a record number of GP cars on a lap of Silverstone last Sunday to celebrate the circuit’s 50 th Grand Prix. Racing legend Moss led 84 cars – the largest collection of Grand Prix cars ever assembled – around the famous Northamptonshire circuit at the Silverstone Classic on Sunday, 27 July.

    The Active Valve Control engine puts out 261.5bhp at 6,000rpm and 343Nm (253 lb ft) torque at 4,000rpm fed through a six speed gearbos to the car's four wheel drive system. 0 to 60 takes 5.2 seconds and top speed is 148mph. Further modifications over the standard car include larger 17 inch Brembo brake discs, 17 inch wheels with fatter 225/45 tyres, uprated suspension with inverted struts, front and rear Suretrac limited slip diffs, and a faster 2.6 turn steering rack.

    Built by Alpine in Dieppe it featured a mid mounted 150PS 2.0 litre engine from the Renault Megane Coupe and no windscreen (though this later became an option for the road-spec cars). Many were seen at track day events in the late 1990s though this rare RHD example apparently never raced. It comes with V5C and MoT and is estimated at £22,000 to £26,000, They used to say "the fastest car is a rental car."
