Which small car to convert to LPG?? 12 Jan 2017 (Forum)
I have decided to go down the LPG route having been advised that small diesel cars can be troublesome. I assume the amount of miles the car does on petrol etc will be the same in gas, so I would need a high mpg petrol car. Could anyone recommend something like a fiesta, Peugeot ??? -
Mercedes SLK200 - Convert to LPG 15 Aug 2013 (Forum)
I'm thinking of buying a Mercedes sLK200 (2004 to 2006) and getting it converted to LPG to make the running costs more reasonable. I'm planning to keep the car approx 8 yrs and will do 12k per year. Will converting it have a negative effect on lifespan of engine? Not too worried about whether it goes as fast but do still want it to last a long time. -
LPG runs faster ! Ford Transit. 2 litre 14 Apr 2004 (Forum)
MY transit 2 litre ohc van with Tartarini LPG conversion has saved me loadsa money over the past year. It is fast, quiet and does 5 miles per litre @37.9p ish. It has however recently developed a wish to run faster on LPG than on petrol. It starts and runs fine but when it is on gas the revs dont drop back fully to tickover which means a bit more braking ! -
LPG gas conversion 29 Mar 2007 (Forum)
Having found that sad little Hyundai Santa Fe falls into the persecuted band G VED rating (must be lowest emissions car that does) I'm wondering at what point to take a big financial hit by changing to an older 4x4 (not G rated even if higher emissions) or perhaps get it converted to run on LPG. Does anyone know if it could be done and roughly how much it would cost? -

Vauxhall Astra G Petrol (1998 - 2004) - LPG and petrol MOT testing emissions. 31 Aug 2008 (Forum)
How do VOSA/MOT testing stations test a dual fuelled car? Is the emission testing done on both fuel types or just one? Does LPG or Petrol give a lower emissions reading? Is it best to take your car in after a good run out & 'hot' or just take it in stone cold? -
Vauxhall Astra G Petrol (1998 - 2004) - Urgently needed - LPG service centre South Yorks' 7 Jan 2008 (Forum)

e-bay Cars 26 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Main dealers are bad enough, never mind the lack of engineering knowledge needed to be a certified LPG installer. -
LPG/Duel fuel systems 7 Jul 2005 (Forum)
hello, I've just taken delivery of a 1969 Alfa Romeo 1750 Berlina. To my amazement it's (factory/dealer) fitted with an LPG duel fuel system. I know absolutely nothing about duel fuel and it would appear that my googling skills are not what they once were. :( I'm after someone in the bedfordshire area that can service/check it out for me. -
Bayonett Cap for LPG Filler Cap 8 Sep 2003 (Forum)
I've recently had the filler cap to my LPG filler point nicked and I can't find a replacement (NB: tried going back to the people who did the conversion and they've gone bust). It's got a bayonett fitting that looks very much like a conventional light fitting for a domestic light bulb - does anyone have any ideas as to how to get hold of a replacement? -

Jeep Grand Cherokee (1999 - 2005) - 4.7 V8 LPG conversion, a proposition ? 11 Feb 2010 (Forum)
Hello, I have a 4.7 v8 Jeep Grand Cherokee that as you can imagine is quite thirsty! I am currently looking into getting a LPG conversion done on it but have a few queries. (1) I currently only do about 15-20 miles a day during the week and say 60 at the weekend usually. As i understand it the engine needs to get warm before the LPG can be turned on so basically this would not probably make it not worthwhile?? -
LPG Taxation 27 May 2008 (Forum)
Hi all, just a quick question, does anyone have any information about the government's plans for taxation on LPG fuel next year? The last that I heard and the tax was fixed until 2009 but I've found no mention of what will happen after that date. I would hope that at worst there would be a gradual increase to narrow the gap between LPG and petrol over a period of several years, but my gut tells me that this government can't be trusted and would probably make an abrupt change. -

Reply to earlier thread about LPG 2 Apr 2020 (Forum)
Ive just been looking through some older threads and came across some unanswered questions about lpg the main one being the safety side of things im an LPGA approved convertor so obviously its in my interest to say how safe lpg is so read for yourself at LPGA.co.uk there is a whole section on safety Channel tunnel.. yes its true at the moment the channel tunnel do not allow gas cars to travel with them but one of my customers is currently in a court battle with them over it channel tunnels view is that if there is a fire on the train they simply seal that carriage and deal with the fire at the other end so they dont want anything extra on the train that is flammable fair enough but as hj said autogas tanks are much much safer than calor gas type bottles so doesnt it seem starnge that you are allowed to carry 80l or a 40 kilo bottle of lpg with your caravan the channel tunnel dont seem to think this a risk at all?????!!!! -

LPG/bi-fuel Cars 11 Apr 2006 (Forum)
I was on the Continent recently and over there many manifacturers sell bi-fuel cars, but not in the UK, it does seem. And does converting a new car to run on LPG invalidate its warranty? I'm new on this forum, so all advice on the matter would greately be appreciated.
