  Mini convertible advertised as having air con, checked all details inc. this with salesperson also.  Took delivery, read handbook, car doesnt have air con.  Mini dealer said they had informed me (they hadnt) and offered £75 mini merchandise.

  Hi - My mini which has been serviced by main dealer from new has developed a 'grinding noise' when the brakes are applied. A service is due in 200 miles [mileage 54,000]. While the noise sounds like 'metal on metal' appearing that the pads may have worn out, the discs look ok, and there have been no associated warning lights appearing, to indicate that replacement pads are due.

  They can't seem to explain why I shouldn't buy an Irish import, though it is orginally from a BMW dealer. Are they just in huff cause I'm not buying the Mini one they offered me and missing out on commision? Is a car on Northern Irish Plates a major issue? Many thanks in advance for any advice.

  this is tim using dads user name. We found the cost of hiring a mini-bus is ridiculous, plus alot of people wont touch me as im 21. Unfortunately the university mini-bus is occupied the weekend we need it. need minibus to take 10 people about 300 mile round trip from friday to monday. before you request national express, not interested nor are we interested in using mini bus hire with driver.

  I'm thinking of buying a new Mini Cooper 'S' but have heard rumours about a whole new set of engines about to be launched for all Mini variants. I don't want to buy one then 5 minutes later find they've released the new engines. Can anyone confirm this?

  Evening, I was looking at buying a weekend car, 2.5k max maybe. Went through a phase of looking at MX5's, sat in one and wasn't me, Started looking at Mini Cooper S as had an old one as a first car, lots of bad news on the web but still can't completely discount it. Anyone got any other ideas, doesn't have to be 2 seats, not really counting the rear seats in the mini, likes the idea of the increased power over the MX5 in standard form of the mini.

  I am alarmed to read in a short road test that the new crossover Mini has a Text message / Twitter screen built into the dash so that owners can read 'em whilst they drive! Your average text/twit user can be seen in any High Street walking along without any regard for those around 'em so what's their driving going to be like?

  Sometime (post-launch of the new MINI) I'm thinking of acquiring a MINI Cooper. Whilst I know its a very good car in it's own right (handling, styling etc etc)...my biggest potential reason for buying it will be because with my own money (£12k-ish) will be for residuals and running costs - with such decent performance AND mpg of combined 48, it would seem ideal (except I'll miss the space of my Focus should I do it).

  Hi I am starting a new business and have decided to buy a mini one for advertising and getting about. I have heard that Mini residuals are quite firm but does anybody know how much the new model will affect this? I have bought all my cars in the past from auction but dont see that many minis come up and am not sure if the price difference will be worth it on a 1-2 year old model against a new one.
