  Aston Martin delivers first of DB4 GT Zagato Continuation cars to owners 12 Nov 2019 (News)
  Originally built to race against the might of Ferrari in the 1960’s, the DB4 GT Zagato has entered the annals of Aston Martin history and is widely regarded as among the most beautiful and desirable sports cars ever made. The 2019 DB4 GT Zagato Continuation cars now going to the select group of owners of course stay true to those original Zagato-bodied DB4 GTs produced by Aston Martin and Zagato in the 1960s.

  The 145 (Type 930a) was a boxy affair, while the 146 (Type 930b) was the same car from the front bumper as far as the B-pillars, but with a more rakish fastback body style. Of the two, it would be the five-door 146 that sold in the greater numbers - the 145's rather abrupt rear end was perhaps too challenging for many, depsite its bread van-like boxiness giving it more practicality than Alfa Romeo buyers were traditionally used to. Yet despite being different, its styling kind of worked in the way that only an Alfa Romeo can get away with.

  Meanwhile, a 1948 Jaguar 3.5-litre Mk IV Drophead Coupé sold for £40,700 - more than twice its upper estimate. Other strong sellers included a 1964 Morris Mini Cooper 970 ‘S’ (£40,700), a 1975 Vauxhall Firenza 2.3 ‘Droopsnoot’ (£18,150), and a 1975 Jensen Interceptor SIII 7.2-litre (£56,100). Fords were as in demand as ever with a 1987 Ford Capri 280 ‘Brooklands’ Turbo Technics fetching £26,400.

  Only Fools & Horse’s Jaguar E-type sells for £116k at auction 6 Sep 2016 (News)
  A 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III Roadster that starred in the second ever episode of legendary BBC sitcom Only Fools & Horses sold for £115,875 at Silverstone Auctions’ Salon Prive sale. Another Jaguar convertible, a 1959 Jaguar XK150 3.4 S Drophead Coupe, sold for £189,000 - more than £40,000 over its lower estimate. Several highly desirable Porsches sold for strong prices. A 1988 Porsche 911 (930) Turbo, sold for £171,000 including premium, £60,000 over its lower estimate.

  Four of Lamborghini’s finest were for sale, including a rare and highly collectible 1983 Lamborghini Countach 5000 S, selling for £281,250. While a 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25 th Anniversary edition sold for £241,875, and a 1988 Jalpa 3.5 Targa sold for £58,500. Other Italian classics that caught the attention of buyers included a 1964 Alfa Romeo 2600 Spider by Touring.

  1938 MG TA Police Car in Historics 12th March Auction 25 Feb 2016 (News)
  Some facts about 1938 are that there were around 2.5 million vehicles on UK roads compared to 31 million today. And there were 7,500 road deaths, v/s 1,775 in 2014, which clearly shows how much safety has improved. CTF 921 was first registered in February 1938, to Lancaster Police.  When its duties were done, it had a more sedentary life in the ownership of a Canadian who took such a shine to the car that he shipped it across the Atlantic when he returned to his homeland.   A subsequent American owner treated the car to light restoration before the car returned to the UK and now graces the Historics sale on March 12 th . This 76-year old is resplendent in its black coachwork and red interior trim, and mechanically is said to be faultless.

  Frankfurt Motor Show 2015: Turbocharged Porsche 911 Carrera revealed 15 Sep 2015 (News)
  .  This means the  standard Carrera will get 20PS more power with 370PS, while the track-focused   Carrera S peaks at 420PS.  As well as more horsepower, the turbocharged Carreras gets more torque - 450Nm and 500Nm, respectively - and improved fuel economy with almost 40mpg available.  As you might expect, the new engines make the 911s faster, with top speeds increasing to 183mpg and 191mpg, while the 0-62mph dash times drop to 4.2 and 3.9 seconds. In addition to the new engines, the updated Carrera sits 10mm closer to the road and features Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) as standard to improve handling and allow the driver to choose between variable performance modes.

  However, while the R18 e-tron quattro was fast - achieving a new track record -  it was beset with technical problems.  Third place went to 2014's winners Andre Lotterer, Marcel Fassler and Benoit Treluyer, despite an early puncture and a large section of the engine hood coming adrift and causing damage to the car.

  According to TfL's own figures (published in the 2012 document, The Mayor’s Draft Air Quality Strategy), there's just a handful - believed to be seven - of the Nissan-powered Fairway FX4s now remaining in service in London. The final car, R44CAB, is due to leave service on 1 October 2013. The FX4's replacement, the now-troubled TX4, was introduced at the 1997 British motor show (in TX1 form), and went into production at the end of that year. However, a number of Fairway FX4s remained unsold into 1998 (and '99!)

  100 Year Old Prince Henry to Star at Vauxhall Heritage Open Day 25 Mar 2011 (News)
