  Have replaced battery on this vehicle 2.5 yrs ago as origanally engine would turn over ok at first but if it did not start first time it would then sound like the battery is U/S so i replaced it. Have lived with this since i bought this car.

  I had to disconnect the battery while I changed a panel bulb in the dashboard. Now everything has gone back together fine and working fine .... but when I slow down (to make a turn for example) the engine is cutting out. Has disconnecting the battery for 24 hours upset the ECU or something?

  Nothing works, alarm, no windows nothing. Then sometimes it will just fire into life. I checked the battery running and it's putting in 14.5V running and battery standing is 12.8V. So battery seems all ok. It there a main relay module on these cars which brings down everything? Any advice appreciated!

  2007 3.2 i6 HSE 5d Auto Gas Conversion The battery was replaced in November 2015. Today the battery warning light has started to illuminate. Diagnosis I put a volt meter on the battery when engine off and it read 12.1 .

  It seemed to cure itself, about a month ago. This morning the car had all its indicators going and a flat battery (18 months old) I'm guessing the alarm was triggered and as its not that noisey we didn't hear it. As its damp this morning I'm guessing this has something to do with it. Does anyone know of any common faults where I may look first?

   My car struggles to start when its very hot or very cold and something seems to be draining the battery life as I need to replace the battery every year.  I have taken it to the garage a couple of times including the vauxhall dealer garage to have checked over and they cannot find anything wrong even when I have had a diaganosis test done.

  Hello All,    I went to start my Rover 45 yesterday and it wouldnt start, just a clicking sound as i turned the ignition.  This happened about 7 months ago and i bought a brand new battery.  This time i got a jump start and it started immediatly.  I drove down the road for about ten minutes to try and get the battery charged up and noticed when revving the battery light flicked on and flicked off just momentarily.

  Hi there, Following a little crisis at home, left the keys in it and flattened the battery. Jump started it off the neighbours car and went to work. The car kept stalling in between gear changes, (the battery was charging). Charged the battery that day, put it on, it starts okay, but wont idle.

  In the morning it turns over fairly slowly and struggles to start. The starter motor is fairly new and the battery is only a week old. I had to call out the breakdown service as the car did not start. as soon as he put his battery pack on it started within seconds so i presume the glow plugs and starter are okay.

  After this the Clio won't start ! There is now a near short on the chubbyish cable which runs from the battery + back in towards the dashboard. The short (4.5 Ohms) appears when the ignition key is turned to first stop. Two questions: 1. What is the most vulnerable component on that cable after the ignition switch ?

  Anyway, it won't start, the starter motor clicks but doesn't turn the flywheel. Tried attaching a booster thingy to the battery once we found it, it's in the boot by the way. Didn't make any difference but the headlights are dim when tested engine off, so I still suspect the battery. We did, however, manage to bump start it OK .

  I have just given it a 15 mile run but revs still drop when pulling to a halt. Would leaving the battery disconected affected the ECU?

  I am wondering if the alternator is faulty and is putting the belt and tensioner under stress.....the new battery cured it for a couple of days and after a couple of days (as the battery lost power) the problem reappeared? I hope this makes sense , or am I barking up the wrong tree. I am no auto electrician but how do I check for faulty alternator with a small multimeter.

  Anyone got any idea what you should expect to be reasonable battery life on an average digital camera. I've just bought one in the sales (mid price range standard hand held job - 10mp, 3x zoom, £100 ish). The batteries are lasting about 8 pictures - I've taken one back as I thought I had a dud but the replacement is just as bad.

  My brother has a Peugeot 406 hdi that has been stood for a couple of weeks and when he went to start it this weekend the battery was flat. Having removed the battery and recharged it, the engine immobilser (flip down pad type) now refuses to accept the code...b4 when the code was entered the red light went out and the green light came on and the engine started...now both the green and red lights stay on after the code has been entered and the car refuses to start.

  I have signed up to buy a 2001 Passat 1.8 20V SE car from a delaership pending a test drive. When I first saw the car I was unable to tet drive it as it had a flat battery. They informed me today that they couldnt get it started and were sending it to a VW garage to go through a full diagnostic check and get it up and running. I am now having second thoughts about buying the car as it may be a fault somewhere that is draining the battery somehow.

  Hi Guys, As my Daughters Vauxhall corsa '02 1.4 only does a small mileage per week, I decided to take the battery off to charge it over the weekend. I ended up charging it on the car as it seems that half the panelwork under the bonnet has to be removed to take it off. Is this the case? is it REALLY that difficult to remove.
