Battery conditioner or plain old battery charger? 9 Oct 2011 (Forum)
I've recently bought a classic car and don't plan to take it on winter roads. I've been looking at one of those battery conditioner/chargers (CTEK make a range) and a search here reveals nothing. Any experience/advice about these things? I thought I could just bung my 30 year old basic charger on from time to time but it could be I am behind the times. -

Citroen C3 (2002 - 2009) - 03 1.4 wont start, battery warning light flashing 22 Apr 2011 (Forum)
My wifes C3 1.4 petrol wont start following the battery dying a couple of weeks ago. Since then i have replaced the battery and coil pack. The car currently shows as in "eco mode" and the battery warning light keeps flashing. I have scoured the net for a clue to what the issue is, even had a friend in a garage put it on his diagnostic computer but no faults showed up. i have tried to reset the BSI following the instructions found on the net but still no difference. this really is winding me up now and any help would be appreciated. -
General Question - Cheap battery diagnostic tester 4 Jan 2009 (Forum)
It's that time of year again!. It would be very useful if I could check the level of battery charge on my 2003 1.8 Mondeo without having to visit a battery specialist with clever and expensive equipment. Does anyone have positive experience of the small LED battery/alternator testers that cost less than £10.00, eg Rolson, Sealey, Draper. -

As I was going away for christmas and new year, returning home late yesterday evening, today is the first chance I've had to get the battery on charge. Is it likely to survive, given that it is only two years old and a top-notch battery? -

Peugeot 306 Battery Charging 28 Sep 2006 (Forum)
It's years since I have had to get involved with mundane things like battery charging. You know the story...car 2 - 3 years old... it's time for a new one! Anyway, I am now the proud owner of a 1997 non-turbo diesel and a lovely car it is too. It seems a bit slow to turn over when starting and I'm thinking that owing to it's short journeys, the battery might want a charge. -
Long-life batteries 6 Sep 2005 (Forum)
Sorry if this is an old chesnut, but as a newish member haven't seen it come up yet. My Volvo 740 purchased in 1998 is still on the battery I aquired it with. The friend I bought it off didn't fit it, so battery must be at least eight years old, only time it has failed to start car was once when I topped it up, guess I diluted the volts. -
electric problems in 95 cavalier 6 May 2004 (Forum)
I have used the car since during days and nights and the battery seems to be getting a charge. Today (29th april) after work, same thing happened...the battery was flat again. Another boost got me going and again, the battery got a good charge on my way home. -
Battery changing advice that works 11 Jan 2004 (Forum)
Think about it, and he's right. I gave this advice to a friend at the weekend, whose car has a poorly accessible battery. A few minutes later, when, with cold and numb fingers, the ratchet handle was dropped, and free-wheeled down to touch against the bulkhead whilst still connected to the positive post, he was somewhat grateful not to have an exploding battery, or fire, on his hands! -

Ford Mondeo 2L Diesel 58 Reg Hatchback - Battery for a Mondeo Diesel 11 Nov 2012 (Forum)
He suggested that I might want to consider getting a new one, and the one recommended was this one. http://www.racshop.co.uk/car-battery/product/rac-premium-car-battery-r1-096-100.html I have had battery warnings in the past, but have never had a problem starting the car (I did get Engine Malfunction flashing up for a split second last week, but then the engine started fine).
